checked kanina. 5 hours lang pala recording sa 32gb kung 1080p. tapos auto on-off yung unit sabay sa susi. and every 3 mins yung recording niya, gumagawa siya ng new file(pwede palitan every 5mins or 10mins). and yung LCD pwede din on or off during recording hehe

    tinker ulit mamaya pauwi.

cdrking's dvr-017 has options of 2,5,15min - 'cut off'. As claimed na 720p sya: on daytime, a 5min video is at approx 200+mb. Two(2) resolutions lang ang options nya so far. (but i forgot kung ano na yun).

kindly post sample night time driving vids. Thanks!

hehe naguluhan ako. but confirm ko na 5 hours nga lang yung 32gb if 1080p.

will post sample night time shot later.

i chose the patriot brand unit because it looks more durable. metal casing siya. yung iba kasi cheap plastic lang. baka masira agad.

    approx estimates:
    1,000Mb = 1Gb
so, if *720p vid resolution (cdrking unit) 5min video is at 200mb (daytime recording is higher than night time).
    1000/200 = 5x 5min vids, so sa 1Gb meron kang 25mins na vid.
    1Gb = 25mins vid x 32gb = 800mins/60 = 13hrs
so meron kang around 13hrs sa 32Gb KUNG nasa 720p yun vid res (as claimed, medyo doubt ako ke cdrking e, hehe)
mas lower hours of recording kung 1080p yan.

    Higher resolution = bigger space.

    i hope hindi na magulo.

I think a DVR that can record at least for few hours should be enough for a "blackbox" functionality. Usually, whenever an event happens (ie. accident), you're probably going to look at the footage immediately, not one week later.

But if you wish to archive it for viewing later, you can always export the specific footage to a PC.

So lumalabas good for 6hrs ang 32gb for a 1080p dashcam.

My purpose here is that i wish to know how big a particular resolution eats up space and for how long a specific size of mem card would last. Cause sometimes if my tamaditis strikes, late ako nakakapagbakup at wala na yun gusto ko e-review/already overwritten.

Just set yung function na auto delete and record yung micro SD so maski maliit yung capacity ng card ay continuous pa rin yung recording.

Madami ding mura na HD ang recording. Mine is Carcam brand na full HD with 4X zoom function.

yep, mine is on auto overwrite na. i looked around before buying the dvr, pero ayaw ko kasi yung foldable lcd, less moving parts less wear and tear kasi hehe

this is how mine looks like, aayusin ko nalang yung line para nakatago sa headliner.

Got cdrking dvr reviews a few pages back.

    - they're only good at daytime recording. Objective ko kasi talaga is that if somebody cuts/hits you and ran away - if you could capture the plate number, the better. Kaso hindi, at night time traffic+tutok ang kelangan to get the plate# ng harap mo.

    - and after a few months of use, deteriorated na ang battery. 1day mo hindi magamit (ie coding), reset na ang date mo.

    - but still yun gamit ko now, front & back. Just waiting for the dvr like the TS to arrive soon. :D
