Nope. A memory card doesn't have any physical spinning parts, it's flash-based. So I don't see how abrupt shutoffs can damage it.

Thanks. Actually i was thinking why windows or my cp ask me to unmount or safely remove the sdcard and comes with a warning that it might damage the drive.

Also considering removing the battery of my sjcam...

The warning is aimed more towards avoiding data loss. If you pull out a flash drive while the computer is writing something on it, the data might get corrupted. This is what I feared when I took my battery out of my SJ. However, the SJ records properly up to the point when you cut the power, no corrupt files or anything.

I don't use a battery anymore with my SJ4000 since it bloated after a year of use.

Settings (Car Mode, resolution, etc) stay the same even if the camera abruptly turns off when I shut off the engine.

Nagrereset ang Date and Time. Cool thing is as jut703 stated, yung car mode and other settings ay di nagbabago kahit walang battery.

I have to drive without the battery last vacation. Naghahang yung SJCAM ko at nagwawave yung screen. Parang pag mababa yung frequency ang dating. Ayaw din mabuhay pag naka battery lang.

Apparently parang hindi nagchacharge or it was draining more than its being charge. Will try to use higher amperage car-usb charger.

Mga sirs can somebody help me with my sj4000 wifi,nilagyan ko ng 32gb class 10 na sd card pero nagrerecord lang siya upto a certain gb mga 8gb lang siguro nagagamit tapos hindi na nababasa yung iba.corrupted files ang lumalabas pag itry mo play sa computer.pero the rest hangang 8gb nababasa at napplay mo ng maayos.any input would be greatly appreciated TIA!

Sir, sa reliable store mo ba nabili yang 32gb? May ganyan kasing fake na sd card. 32gb ang nakalagay, pati sa Windows pag tiningnan mo eh 32gb. pero pag ginamit mo na eh 8gb lang usable. Try mo kopyahan yan ng mga files sa Windows na more than 8gb. Di nya kakayanin.

you have to format you SDCARD ng NTFS file format.

kasi kung fat32 lang yan ang maximum na file size na pwede ma record nya is less than 4G per video.

Ah ok.try ko nga kopyahan ng more than 8gb.sa greenhills ko kasi nabili tong sd card ko.

May fake palang 32gb. Sa bagay ang mura na ng 8gb ngayon. Parang 150 na lang ata. Then kunting print ng details sticker sa card, then few software stuff. Mabibita mo na ng 1k.

Buy a usb car charger. Make sure that the usb car charger that you buy has the same or greater ampere rating than the orig charging adapter. Then get a long usb cable to connect your dashcam to the charger. This is the setup I use with my SJ4000.

taga-saan ka? if you are in the vicinity of mind museum sa bgc, you can have mine for the price of my whole day parking it is the car charger for the sj4000 i got from bettinna's gadget when i bought my sj4000. never used since i prefer using my 2-port usb charger.

The car charger I got had a cable that was only about 1.5M long, but was sufficient to route the wiring through my headliner and A-pillar, directly to the car's ignition.

Sa Octagon ako nakabili ng 3 meters na USB to USB-Mini.

Sakto lang yung 3 meters sa kotse namin para maitago sa headliner at pillar yung cable.
