Hmmm kay bettina po ako nakabili ng non-wifi sjcam. Madami po kasamang accesories. You could checkout the reviews on youtube. What i seperately bought for the unit is the micro sdcard. So far its doing its purpose as a dashcam. Di ko pa sya nagamit as action cam.

sorry to say but at the price point of the transcend 220, it extremely overpriced. all those "features" mentioned are all buggy and most of them you will never use while driving in our roads. used it for a month, mas maganda pa ang picture quality ng sj4000. dual purpose pa. check nyo nalang sa dashcamtalk forums. andun lahat kelangan nyo malaman.

Im using a magic mount, i dont like messy cables, i wanted it to be clean looking as possible, the ones that uses hardwired installed are too expensive like the blackvue, inavi fxd700 and f750, the ones from transcend, hp and garmin has a blindspot, i want my windshield free of obstruction and cables, so i opted to use my iphone, installed on the dash, im also waiting for the technology to get cheaper and the cameras smaller. There will come a time when it will be standard feature in all cars.

Or im just being a cheapskate, making up excuses not to buy one.

You didnt ask how long or how far is the commute, its exactly 2.9kms from house to daughters school then its less than 1km from school to my bussiness/office everyday. Yes its a boring drive. I miss the 1-2hrs drive from pque to makati, the congestion, rush hour, color coding, edsa and of course, MMDA

Lols... cheapskate it is, You said it yourself. Anyway since your iphone is doing a fine job as a dashcam then you can pass. Unless, youll be using your phone when it serves as a dashcam then its a wise idea to invest on something to seperate the two... ☺

I admit im a Cheapskate, my commute doesnt merit that much of an investment, but hear me out, im using carcorder app right now, its $1.99 in the app store, records in 1080, you still can use the music player in the background, has 8x slowmotion so its easy to see the plate number infront, it has a powersaving mode, btw, u can still use google maps for directions, auto dial in case on an emergency, there is the usual snapshot and speedlog etc. its a waste if we dont maximize what we have, its a 30k phone. Sayang naman kung pang tawag at pang brazzers lang.

was able to get another sj4000 non-wifi. buti meron bagong stocks. this new one has a more recent firmware. since wala pa ako chance makauwi sa amin to install it to our other vehicle, i have it now as a rear dash cam.

seems the new firmware provides 1 second faster bootup and shutdown (or baka naman because of the length of the power cable, i have both wired sa rear cigarette plug).

i think mas sulit pa rin yung sj4000 non-wifi vs dedicated dashcam since dual purpose kapag may outing/lakad. pwedeng pang-action cam.

I'm also using a phone as dashcam (AutoGuard Dash Cam) dahil nagtitipid nga.

But after an accident in which my dashcam video can prove my innocence in court, I'm going to get the best dashcam.

If my phone camera view was wider like of a dedicated dashcam, the impact could have been captured:
