March 11th, 2009 07:28 PM #1What is the best security system for under P5,000? I'm not looking for any fancy. I just want a security system that prevents the car from starting without a key or make it difficult to start, sound the alarm if any of the doors are opened without the key, sound the alarm if my car gets hit. If there is such thing, I want the alarm system to send a signal to my key chain if the alarm goes off.
I know there are no 100% carnap proof alarm, I'm just looking for something that will take the car thief extra time just to start my car.

for me the best is layered security or multiple anti-theft devices.
1. car alarm with immobilizer
2. steering wheel lock
3. fuel kill switch
you can get all 3 at less than 5k

1.) Force (1,600 only)
2.) Make sure to put a kill switch (concealed location of course).

Cobra 1.7K
I wouldn't use a steering wheel lock, its attached to one of the most weakest part (steering wheel) of a car. If meron na clutch lock I think it would be better.
Park next to flashy or expensive car, that way yun ang mapapansin ng bad people...

i used cobra alarm, i think meron siya trunk and hood alarm, but i did not bother to have it activated or connected. and also the immobilizer(the engine wont start if you did not unlocked the car properly), i did not have it activated because the technician said that its malfunction prone. kung budget mode ka, at di ka masyado maarte sa alarm, cobra is a good buy.
my purpose using cobra was to detect forced entry and remote lock/unlock

May 13th, 2010 01:00 AM #10I used to have a Clifford alarm that has an anti carjacking feature na pag tinakbo ng carjacker yun suv for 20 meters ay mag engine shutdown if he doesn't enter a code within 10 seconds upon entering the suv. Meron pa ba ganun klaseng car alarm worth around 5k or less?
