To go back to the question of this thread, "Where to buy Garmin products?", still the answer is buy them abroad. The link above clearly shows how much the prices here are padded. And to think that the map is freely available both in roadguide.ph and OSM, these resellers are really making a huge profit. So beware all Garmin gps buyers, be informed and don't fall victim to these predators.

And to show you the proof that there is a much better value for your money option, compare this guy's price of Nuvi 1490T here...http://www.bentaserbisyo.com/producto.html and that with Amazon.com....[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Widescreen-Bluetooth-Portable-Navigator/dp/B002771V48/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263957307&sr =8-1"]Amazon.com: Garmin nüvi 1490/1490T 5-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic: Electronics[/ame]. You do the math.

There is a few shops in V-Mall that sell Garmin GPS units that are cheaper than the one in the posted link and the Metro Manila map is already included.

I agree buying in U.S. is the best way, but if you want local purchase, there is this guy in sulit.com.ph selling for reasonable price (garmin msrp + shipping to Phil + a little profit). Bought my Oregon 450 from him.

    Check him out ...

There's also a local online store that sells Garmin, it can ship and it accepts Paypal so buyers automatically has purchase protection from Paypal. Their stocks can quickly run out, but you can pre-order.

Agree with you bro. Plus taxes pa iyan, right?...

Bought my other unit only recently at about the same price, from Amazon. And then, I picked it up from my friend's house.
