mazdamazda, I believe pareho lang yan ng smoked headlamps. Tawag naman jan dito sa US, blacked-out headlamps or simply JDM headlamps :bwahaha:

    chieffy,

I didn't see you actually do anything to the outer glass. You only blackened the frame. Ganon lang ba yun? you don't actually "tint" the outer glass?

I'm confused cause I saw another demo and it also only showed the painting of the "frame" and not the "glass".

    thanks

outer glass or plastic does not need to be painted. inside frame lang yon and it will give you the desired effect.

    wow. ganon pala yun

but Jdms actually have tints on the glass right? (hehe.. obviously) I just thought that we have to spray a really thin coat on the glass.

The Paj Gen3's headlights do have a "frame" but it is directly adjacent to the glass. I am not sure if it will create the same effect as... let's say if I do it on a Crv. Hmmmm.... pano ko kaya i tint mismo yung glass?

Dahil ang turn signal sa loob, it cant be dark.

The 'frame' that you are talking about could be the same frame that I painted on the WRX bugeye.

another good example, 2000-2004 Eclipse black housing

    eto pala yung pic
    type r smoked headlight

    odell,

I think they avoid the reflective surface just the housing/frame.

I just had my Civic headlamp cleaning done last monday sa Evangelista. Yellowish na kasi yun cover and I can't clean it from the outside. They do the same way of heating (heat gun) the sealant area and prying the cover and housing. They use rubbing compound to clean the plastic cover. I paid P800 for 2 headlamp. Sayang sana napapinturahan ko na rin.
