Hinde porket white HID na sir. Halogen bulb kase stock ng foglamps so I said get an Yellow halogen bulb for your foglights instead of HID.

For me, purpose of foglights is to operate the vehicle safely after dark especially when heavy rains. So kung white ilalagay mo dyan is mahirapan ka sa tag-ulan. Ok lang din mag HID kung yellowish color ipalagay mo.

I just encountered an SUV with the worst HID ever!!! As if that's not bad enough, he even had gigantic fog lights! I thought a train was approaching me from behind me and this is considering that we were about 8-10 cars away! It was so bad that my car cabin felt like I had the map light on.

Black Toyota Fortuner Z-Z 700 - accident magnet.

    Cathy ....

If that was the old Fortuner which I think it is, then no wonder why it resulted to that.

Prefacelifted Fortuners = no projector assembly yet unlike the current ones.

One more thing to consider = tall height.

    tsk tsk.

Experienced a lot of blinding from those owners. HID's were usually 8k and Fortuners were the prefacelifted ones and colors were usually black. *sigh*

Good thing I haven't experienced blinding from the facelifted ones that we have today. Helps a lot really if you have your projectors on because the Fortuner is really a TALL SUV.

I wanted to switch lanes but I couldn't because I was already near my exit at SSHW. I couldn't even identify if it was a car, truck or SUV until it passed me. I thought it was a bus or a 12 wheeler truck. It was that bad.

Hindi pa nakuntento, he even turned on his gigantic spotlights este fog lights pala. I am not sure if he had a pair or 2 pairs of foglights.

I hope people would be mindful of other drivers when installing HID on their vehicles. I wanted one on my AE101 but never really pushed through because I am afraid that it might not be done properly.

BTW these shops that sell HID, aren't they aware or don't they give advise to their buyers on the proper installation/set up? I remember when I had my tints installed the owner of the shop advised against using super black on my windshield and told me to get medium instead.

Nah. I doubt it if the HID sellers is reminding the owners that they could blind the oncoming traffic.

Parang negative side na kasi yun and baka magscare away pa ng customers.

    Dunno, really.

BTW, do you know what one thing that I hate the most ? ....

    3k on headlights + 3k on foglights !

    * Nighthawk, thanks very much for all the useful tips. Some questions:
    1. Is retrofitting still possible on a car that already has plug-n-play HID lamps?
    2. If yes to no. 1, how much for a 1st gen CRV?
    3. If no to no. 1, what should be done?
    Thanks!

yes its still possible for a proper retrofit when you have plug and play hids already, the first prerequisite is that your headlamp housing is clear lens which i think it is. then you can still use your existing ballasts but the h4 hid bulb will be replaced to d2s together with the projectors. check out your pm inbox.

ask ko lang kasi may mga factory hid na like civic 2.0s and accord 3.0v6 but they are not projector type useful ba hid nila since there is no projector?

  16. #136
*honda civic kindly check ur pm thanks bro.

    *vvvaccord

factory fitted hid like that on the civic 2.0 fd and the accord is still okay because they emit a street legal output pattern which has a light cut off. these reflectors are designed to handle d2R bulbs which has a painted shield on the bulb. the effect is low lumen rating. but overall the beam is still satisfactory. but you can never compare them to a modified hid projector which has a razor sharp cut off light with a little color band along the cut off and the most distinct characteristics which is the unmatched width of the beam compared with hid reflectors.

    At NighthawkGT,

Good pm. Saw your previous and current works in the various threads and posts as well as on your website, and they are excellent. For budgetary purposes, how much would be the costs of a dual (low only) and a quad (low and high) HID projector HL retrofiting on a 2010 face-lifted Hyundai Santa Fe. The projector HL (low) of the 2010 SF is still halogen type while reflector type on high beam. Also, how long would the retroffiting take (for dual and quad) and are there ways in the retrofitting that the electrical warranty on the OEM HL electricals will not be voided or it is really the trade-off? I understand you can use OEM bulbs and wirings to avoid voiding the manufacturer's/dealer's warranty on the headlight electricals. I am uncertain on this.

Many thanks in advance and any information you can provide will be highly appreciated. I shall await for your PM soon. Brgds.

if your headlamp uses halogen as stock please just stick to halogens. changing it to hid makes your light output horrible..

the one you mentioned that uses hid on reflectors (the civic 2.0 fd and the accord V6 ) are using reflector that was designed to handle hid bulb, they uses d2r bulb, just google d2r bulb to know more.

you can read 1st post on page 1 again for more clarification on upgrading to hid.
