Hey tsikoteers!

What do mean by "adjust" the headlight? Adjust the aim of light beam? Or adjust the headlight housing itself?

Para sigurado, next time you have things done at Toyota, dapat batayin mo personally para walang palya on their part. Puro palusot lang ang Toyota, even their company owned dealers (Bicutan and Makati)

Kaso may klase kasi ako kaya hindi ko nabantayan and first 1000km nman e kaya no big deal.

Pano ba to gawin?

Check the link above. The red HELLA box aids in adjusting the aim of the headlight. But what they are doing is adjusting the aim of the newly purchased HIDs replacing the stock halogens.

You can try other Toyota dealers.

may screws sa labas ng housing sa engine bay. adjust it using a philips screwdriver. clockwise lifts the aim, and vice versa.

Wala ka bang mas malayong shot? The adjuster usually sits on top of the headlamp housing.

Dinala ko sa isang talyer sa shaw and they tried to align the headlight pero di nila makuha. Loose thread na daw kaya kailangan palitan na yung buong assembly. They charged me P300.00 for the service fee kahit hindi naayos.

Dinala ko later sa CATS ortigas and they used an equipment to align them it and sandali lang ok na. Ang when I asked how much sabi nung supervisor ok lang, no charge na.

    Rightside headlamp of the Montero:

Closer view. The R-L is seen on the left side while the D-U is seen on the extreme right (almost out of frame). You need only look from directly above to see them.

Key is to look through the metal brace that holds the light housing. May mga butas yon minsan makikita mo may + screw or gear that you can turn with a screwdriver. This is very common with Japanese vehicles.

Try looking at your manual, it should have it there.

Get a long screwdriver, or a really short one depending on the car's design. Look around, you'll see it. Small increments can make a big difference. Park your car 25 feet from the wall tapos on mo yung lights then adjust ka. From there make them level.

A trick to get better lighting is to turn the LEFT headlamp a bit more to face the LEFT. That way yung liwanag nilang dalawa don't completely overlap, but will have more illumination to the side (to the island/median). Very useful at night pag madilim kalye.
