HIDs are useful in the rains and fogs kapag mababang Kelvin ang kinuha mo. Im using 5000k for headlights and foglights sobrang liwanag kahit umuulan ng malakas and dumadaan sa aspalto.
promdiboy, sa pajero mo sya ininstall right? i didn't have that experience na flash ako ng mga kasalubong. i never also adjusted the beam of the headlights kaya stock pa siya until now. did you retain or remove the (i don't know what its called) metal cap in front of the hid bulb or was it installed together with it? in my case, it was removed because the pajero has that inside the headlamp already.
ano difference with and without ng shield sa headlamps? im very interested to know. :car:
ODEL: Di kaya sobrang init yung housing pag naka HID? Nabasa ko dati thread ni Ungas na after 2 hours of driving sobrang init na daw ng salamin ng ilaw niya. Baka matunaw yung headlight housing? Ano gamit mong HID? Magkano?
Infact I know someone using HID for his foglamps on his evo 6 t.m.e for rally use....
Well I've seen a few HID bulbs and they've never melted or blackened any headlamps Ive seen. The bulbs themselves should be cool. Watts make a lot of heat so if there are a lot, I would think they would be hotter.
I've installed an Xtec HID (5000K) conversion kit on my 2004 Mazda3 and I love it. I will never go back to halogens ever. The HID bulbs run much cooler and at a lower wattage than the stock halogen bulbs (35w versus 55w). I tried blue, Xenon looks bulbs in the past thinking that they looked cool and just as good as a true HID kit, but they don't! The HID kit will throw so much more light on the road that the difference is, no pun intended, like night and day.
Although a higher rated temperature will look nicer, it will throw less light on the road. I would suggest not going higher than a kit rated at 6000K.
