    How bright are your headlights?

Katuwaan lang. Since most smartphones now have built-in ambient light sensor. (Refer to your phone user manual where it is located.)

    1. Install MobiLux app in your Android phone and run it. Set offset to 0.50.
    2. At night time, turn on low beam. Put light sensor 12 inches away from low beam. What is the lux level?
    3. At night time, turn on high beam. Put light sensor 12 inches away from high beam. What is the lux level?
    4. Post the results as well as your headlight setup.

    Example only (Not actual data):

    1. Low beam: Reflector + Halogen (Osram Standard) = 1571.00 lux
    2. High beam: Projector + HID (Osram Standard) = 3031.50 lux

*1 lux = 1 lumen per square meter

Again, katuwaan lang po ito. Thanks sa mag-join.

A word to the wise... Measurements might be inconsistent and inconclusive as these ambient light sensors aren't calibrated. Different phones, different brands of sensors, different optics, different 'bins', quality, etc. Besides, they needn't have to be accurate to function satisfactorily on a smartphone.

As stated, katuwaan lang ito bro. Not professional measurement. We are just using smartphones here.

Why not measure from the hotspot on the ground? That'd be a better measure, though it does not factor in the beam pattern and its uniformity.

Basag trip? This is not a matter of taste or personal preference. If yellow is your favorite color, I can't tell you or force you to think that it's not just because my personal favorite is blue. But this is science. I don't see the fun in taking unreliable and unverifiable measurements.

It's like the cliche, "How long is a piece of string?"

But go ahead if you want to brag about lux and lumens. I'm not stopping you.

This thread is not about bragging lux or lumens. If you don't want to join, it is okay. If you want to join, thank you.

Katuwaan lang kasi bro. So easiest way is just 12" away from headlight. We are all familiar with 1 ruler length from school.
