Cheap HIDs do not mean they are imitation. Some are made in korea, taiwan and china kaya cheap pero meron din mahal. Marami din nagkalat na imitations. Philips, Hella, Bosch, Xenon, Mculloch are most of the branded HID's kya mahal and they say that mas matibay ang mga ito but marami din imitations ang mga ito. Kung bibili ka make your you ask for a longer warranty period lets say 2 years. Marami sa banawe area thats selling HIDs but think about it cause HID + Halogen Headlight reflectors will only produce glare. HIDs are made for projector fiited headlights for better use and reduces glare.

Hella and Bosch h.i.ds. come with 2 year warranty. Hella's for low beams can be acquired for 16k while Bosch around 14k. Not too much on price now compared to two years ago.

you're basically paying for the warranty, kaya medyo mataas singil ng mga iba.

FYI... Phillips, Hella & Bosch DO NOT SELL HID RETROFIT KITS since this is illegal in many developed countries already (just check the official website of those companies).
From the website of Phillips (http://www.nam.lighting.philips.com/...s/xenon2.php):
NOTE : Xenon HID bulbs can only be used in vehicles that have HID lighting systems. They cannot be used as an upgrade in conventional headlights.
HID conversion kit manufacturers just sources SOME parts from the aformentioned brands (the ballast or bulbs). What is misleading is that these manufacturers sell these as Phillips or such.

agree! even the color rating should be around 4300k to 5k only. same with oem application. one thing i dont understand is that bosch has its own lighting division which is osram di ba. if it is really from bosch then it should be under osram or another brand under osram. forgot the brand of osram hid...
the triumph of man over... man!, using the crudest of implements (by modern standards).
