Been around since the start of auto forums, you can see here since 2002 pa, hehe so that will give you a clue on my age.

Important naman we act with decency and respect for everyone. Yung mga forums na tumagal, yan yung open for all pero meron self moderation ang mga members at respeto sa isat-isa. Isa pang important lesson for me, pag meron problem, you can solve it outside the forum na mahinahon, no use washing dirty linens in public.

OT na, hehe. Going back to the issue in hand, yes as mentioned pwede to get HL na hid reflectors pero only if it's offered sa vehicle mo like the Civic 2.0, Forester, Altis 2.0, etc. Pag nakahanap ka ng surplus pwede yan but kung JDM makuha mo then baliktad yung step so hindi rin pwede. Fyi lang, I think mga 2x improvement ganitong setup pero less pa rin sa performance ng good qulality HID projector.

    Mabuhay ang tsikot!

    Amen!

To the TS sir rap2_tan, I posted a reply sa thread sa kabila, page 2 yon at ni-revive ko pa ang thread for the sake of HID newbies, I explained to them to the best of my ability and base din sa nababasa ko sa thread ni sir garyq (matagal na akong lurker sa thread ni sir gary at matagal na ring naglaway). :D And pansin mo sir may kumontra, but again I explained it further to the said forumer.

Sir, frankly if you want honest opinions, tsikot has it. Nandito kami to give you honest opinions, minsan may mga nasasaktan sa mga comment ng tao dito kasi they can't accept the truth or ayaw nilang naccriticize. Ang masasabi ko lang, nagtanong pa sila. :p

Tsaka btw, ang purpose po ng headlights natin is to give us light on the ROAD where we need it most. Put that kind of output on the road and you'll be blinding oncoming motorists. HTH sir. Just being honest here.

May nakaaway na kong mga om dun eh, hehe. Sssshhh!

Problem kasi pag may kasalubong na hid na sabog, i cant see their vehicle all i can see is their headlight, also pag may tumawid sa harap ko di ko nakikita dahil silaw na nga.

He probably has had the same misfortune as myself and he stumbled on crappy bolt-on or halogen projectors. Kung yon ang basis niya, I would tend to agree with him.

Pero, wag naman niya lahatin ang projectors. Ang pwede niyang i-generalize, is that multi-reflectors bring out more glare than projectors -- the best or the crappiest projectors at that.

People here just want to give the best advice they can for the betterment of the person asking. Maaring yung iba dito magalit because most of us are actually against plug-and-play HIDs pero keep in mind na hindi naman namin ginusto na mag-look down sa binili niyong bagay. If you insist na gusto mo ng plug-n-play HIDs, then so be it.

But then, to each his own. Kung gusto mo pa rin. Ok, sige lang.

    ---

    Anyway, OT nanaman.

Re: topic, yes using your HIDs as flasher can shorten its lifespan. But then, yung HI, ganun nalang purpose niya -- as flasher. Kasi sobrang useless niya na if you tend to use it at night. Some even say that using a flashlight would be more helpful than using your HI Halogen from your hidbulb during sun down. I guess, applicable yun sa very cheap HIDs (4k below?)

^Pwede sir but the output won't be as good as compared to projectors designed for HID.

Btw 2 pages lang ang thread. It's just 5 minutes to backread yet we kind of summarized it already hehe.

Monteros have projectors, but the projectors are designed for halogen bulbs. Hence, it will do great when fitted with halogen bulbs but would do okay (take note: I said okay, not bad) when fitted with HIDs. It's fine if you're on a tight budget, the projectors would still give a cutoff putting the oncoming motorists at a safe "place" but with halogen projectors, you are not able to maximize the HID's output because it's placed on a "container" that's not for it. Place it on a HID projector, then you can say that "night is the new day" ;)

Then again, if you're on a budget, or would just like to put the rest of your money on more practical stuff, it's okay to use your stock projectors. At least you have projectors, unlike others...

Thanks po for the info *Chikselog and *renzo_d10. Still not decided if going to change to HID....since bago pa si Montero ok naman yung stock headlight for now. Worried about changing to HID if would affect the warranty.

Another option to consider is to change to a better halogen bulb...any recommendation po? Again thank you.
