help with my headlights!

tulong po sana... i change the bulb of my dimlight in my mitsubishi adventure 2002 kso nangitim yung reflectors ko... what can i do? plus i want to change my bulb into one of those all weather ones, do i need to put some relays with it?

kung stock wattage, no need for relays. kaya naman ng stock wirings and sockets yun.

relays are just used if your planning to upgrade to a higher wattage, say, 110/100. It should have relays for it to have an effect, meaning for it to be brighter.. pag hindi ganun pa din. pati sockets u need to upgrade para di matunaw, i have friends na natunawan ng sockets bcoz of higher wattage. pero many have claimed na big improvement tlga..

I tried to use those all weather ones, ganda ng color, parang rainbow kasi, tsaka mura tlga, kahit philips na.. pero i switched to their diamond vision, white tlga, the bulb has a blue coat, try to wait for a transhow, they offer big discounts for their bulbs, sigurado ka pa na tatagal.. i got mine for, if i remember it right, P1,600 for the pair, reg price na mga P2,600. no need for relays, wirings, sockets, kasi 60/55 pa din, tama ba?? hehe

baka mashadong mataas yung wattage ng lumang bulbs mo kaya nangitim (nasunog) yung loob ng headlight housing.

pa-clean mo na lang yung headlight assembly mo if its dirty na. there are some autoshops who does this service. which reminds me, i think nabasa ko sa isang thread na speedwerks at d. tuazon does this service..matawagan nga

one posibilty kung baket nangitim reflector mo after you changed your bulb is nahawakan mo with bare hands yung glass ng bulb. then di na punasan... so pagsindi ng bulb... sunog yung oils then the vapos stick to the reflector and viola...dark reflectors...

second like what SSALOON said too high wattage ng bulb na ginamit before...

ang problem with the reflctors of new cars, plactic coated with crome or what they call Metalized plastics... in time kung sobrang taas ng wattage ng bulb... the heat will cook the crome and eventually it will flake off or turn black...

second problem the reflector itself is prone to scratching, if you touch it with a rag na may dust pa... ayos swirl marks na yan at di mo na maalis yan... if you polish it with metal polish you risk taking off the crome naman...

kaya be careful with repalcing bulbs... if you happen to accidentally touch the bulb with bare hands... wipe it with a clean lint free cloth with a little alcohol. and let i dry before installing it... hope this helps

hmm..havent tried at speedwerks though. pero i'll ask them post ko na rin yung number nila. they are located at the corner of d.tuazon and maria clara st. quezon city.
