Of course :D Each time you turn on your headlights, you burn the filament  Hindi kasama dito ang HID of course. Deterioration of Xenon gas naman yung sa kanila.

Not bcoz they are old styled but, sealed beams are a must when you frequently dunk your vehicle in waters above your hoodline, it wont konk out when all those h4 halogens have.

gamit ko wurth firstec gold sa urvan ko 80/100watts... so far nakita ko difference a philips crystal vison(installed sa lancer) mas kita ang daan sa wurth gold... yellowish sya pero yung hue nya compared sa regular bulb mas maputi... great on asphalt roads.. kahit dumaan ka sa may ilaw ng hiway yung mercury bulb... makikita mo pa rin yung beam pattern mo sa road... mahal nga lang 800 isa

also what i did sa lancer pizza ko was to install relays and mas makapal na wires... then i wired it so pag na ka high beam ako pwede ko pa rin on yung low beam... kakainis kasi mga jeep at bus sa costal...

Ive tried those sylvannia headlamps but they're not as bright as i expected. they are tough lights. I don't know where to get them here.

There is a shop near my house, magallanes, that sells round h4 headlamps that are for motorcycles. these have the same dising as the ones on new cars. they have clear lenses and the reflectors are on the cone not on the lens. so you can see clearly the inside of the headlamp. Similar to new civics. Also, they look really good and spread the light clearly.
It is also sealed very well. Ive submerged them in water and it remains dry inside.
low beam throws light well. high beam is not so good.
I think it sells for 650 a piece.

I can also get 130/90 bulbs. same shop. 150 a piece. but you'll also have to install relays. I was able to find a wiring harness that allows you to put relays neatly and it is idiot proof. unfortunately, i cant find anymore. tell me if you guys need cuz I can copy and biuld one for you. Or you could simply go to banaue but those guys do a messed up job of wiring

ive got a 2000 carnival that went from stock to phlips blue vision to raybrigs crystal something and I wasnt happy with my lights esp when it rains. I ended up doin old school methods of installing headlamp relays and 100/90 osram bulbs. much much better. than the previous bulbs.

I did a side by side comparo with the real 100/90 osram vs the philips Blue visions. installed the osram in the left side and the philips right side.
When you look at them head on you would swear the philips blue vision is as strong & Bright as the 100/90 Osrams. Look at it from the rear view mirror of a car in front of it no difference in output. You start thinking the Philips bluevision 55/60 equals 90/100 output is true. I made another test. I parked the kia 1 foot away from the garage wall and compared the beams they projected. Lo and behold. In my biased opinion, the 90/100 buld was really white with no dim spots. Light seemed to be super concentrated and was hotter to look at. The Philips blue Vision 55/60 was whiter due to its blue tint but was not as intense as the 90/100 bulb. It had dark spots with no light in its beam pattern and the light output was much weaker.

My conclusion is that the Philips bluevision bulbs seemingly brighter light is merely an optical illusion due to its blue color. Real 90/100 are the ones that give more light output.

Another hint is you might want to polish your headlamp lenses with 3m plastic polish to improve light output. Plastic headlamp with a lot of gasgas basahan need regular polishing.

given the cost of HID systems, won't it make more sense to simply upgrade to 100 or 120 watts bulbs with relays?

If youre on a budget 100 watts or higher with relays and good wiring will do. alot better na ito sa stock. but iba talaga ang buga ng HID. hehehe yun nga lang its so damn expensive. tapos sa gabi mo lang ma appreciate.
