    Sir Otep,

May I know what headlight bulb you are using on your ride? A standard 55/60W bulb or a high wattage colored (white or gold) bulb? I'm looking forward to upgrade the headlight of my HiAce. I'm planning to have 4 relays installed by Toyota next week. What would you recommend?

I talked to our auto electrician sa office. He said that one relay for each bulb filament would be best. Yun nga lang mas magastos daw. I've tried placing 2 relays sa lite ace ko noon with a 90/100watt bulb. When sold the van to a friend he upgraded it to four relays still using the same bulb. Mas maliwanag ang ilaw sa tingin ko. Although wala naman ko scientific equipment to really measure it. Ano sa tingin niyo?

Yan nga yung sinasabi ko eversince people are asking what is the difference between those type of bulbs.

After testing more than a dozen of headlights bulbs over the years, Flosser brand lang ang totoo when it comes to claiming over 100 watt bulbs. Those bulbs were hotter than normal bulbs that I have tested. And comparing it side by side with the same headlight model.

All other brands that claim over 60/55 watts bulbs are just plain marketing strategy. Most common box covers are written: 55/60W consumes >> 100/130W output. That's based on what color tint the halogen bulb was covered, not the actual output.

Kaya karamihan ng aftermarket bulbs ngayon puro 55/60W lang. Same as your standard oe bulbs. The only factor that differs them are the color temperature.

When you talk about xenon gas type bulbs, that's another topic to deal on.

    nice info...

Mr. Siakol where did you get those bulbs. Anong brand and how much? I think thats what see often sa streets. Purplish white sya if Im not mistaken. Compared to HID which is really white yan bulb mo yata is a little more purplish. Tama ba description ko?

me nabasa ako na either blue or white bulbs are not that good pag umuulan, i.e. less visibility. Any truth to this?

totoo yan pare... based on experience, kasi yung foglamps ko dati, super white tapos OE headlamp bulbs... tuwing umuulan, wala ako makita sa region kung sa illuminated ng foglamps yung kalsada. i think the water tends to absorb white light as opposed to yellowish/OE colored light bulbs which are more reflective.

That's why most foglights are sold in yellow lenses. Yellow light penetrate more on foggy situation and light does not bounce back to glare you during rains. White bulbs tend to bounce back while bluish bulb hues are quickly absorbed by the water and/or rains.

Ang nakita kong effective OEM light bulbs ay yung kinabit nil sa LiteAce vans with yellow headlights. Malaking tulong talaga ito sa mga drivers.

kuya miko, baliktad po. white light is reflected by rain/water while yellowish lights penetrates through rain kaya mas kita ang daan ;)
