Hi,

I hope somebody could help me find a shop where to buy a Harison-Toshiba HIR1/HIR2 headlight bulb here in Manila. I own a 2007 Civic and a 2006 accord but i am not happy with the stock bulbs for my headlights. I dont want to use HIDs since it is expensive and the light scatters much during heavy rains not enabling me to see the road clearly. On the other hand, Plasma bulbs (HID look alikes) are good but has short life span. I'd appreciate if you could help me find what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm... I haven't seen any shop here that sells HIR here. Medyo interested din ako din since almost ma double yung lumens output nya.

Well, it is cheaper than HID (which requires projector lamps, ballasts, etc.) and is a plug & play affair.

Havent heard of any. Another option is to go Philips Vision Plus or Osram Silverstars... plug and play with better light output/concentration on the same wattage.

ang available lang sa market is IPF HIR's. we have sold over 20 pairs na, mostly sa mga fortuners. it is brighter than originals but the color is the same lang. but it has more depth than HID's.

try nyo sa concorde.

HIR 3,800K - An exclusive IPF innovation technology produces a brilliant white light that is double the intensity of other bulbs with the same wattage, with up to 72% higher lumens per watt. A special reflective coating to the outer surface of an HIR bulb allows visible light to pass through while infra red light (not visible to the human eye) is reflected back onto the filament. This recycling effect superheats the filament thus increasing light intensity. 50% longer lifespan, 50% more energy efficient, lower operating temp. & improved beam pattern over stock halogen. DOT & ECE R37 approved

Infrared Reflective Bulbs HIR1 and HIR2 are designed to replace stock HB3 and HB4 bulbs only. 2007 accord and 2007 civic uses HB3 and HB4. Altis uses H4. below are the HIRs specs:

8th Generation Civic Stock Bulb
Voltage: 12v (low/High beam)
Watt Consumption/ draw from power source: 51w low / 60w high
Watt Output: 51w low / 65w high

IPF HIR
Voltage: 12v (low/High beam)
Watt Consumption: 55w low / 65w high
Watt Output: 110 low / 130w high

I found the HIRs at concorde Megamall and SM southmall. 1 set (2bulbs) costs php. 6200. My question now is can the stock wiring take additional 5watts of load from powersource?

Hi! So you confirm that installing and using HIRs will not cause any burned wires and melted headlight housings? Can I use it for my 8th Gen Civic then? Your advice is appreciated.

Very interesting thread !!!

Is HIR available in other bulb configurations (H4, etc.)?

There is no listing of HIR bulbs in the IPF website (www.ipf.co.jp/English)

TIA

ang ganda nyan.

peru mukhang mahal pa yata yung technology. parang pinakabatang kapatid lang ang presyo sa HID.

they should update that website... makes you think it's a fake kasi sa dami ng naglalabas na mga peke ngayon...

ARB, how's the heat produced by HIR bulbs? Is it hotter or the same with ordinary halogens?

Share ko lang...

Dropped by Concorde, Southmall yesterday. May stock ng HIR for HB3 and HB4. According to the sales guy, HIR's don't come in H4 types. Can anyone confirm this?
