Hi mga tsikoteers,
just wanted to ask assistance regarding my foglamps.
It has a metal shield covering the bulb and since metal siya and bulb is hot, now the metal shield now looks like a burnt metal. (color rainbow to brownish na)
can this be cleaned? or is it more advisable to remove the shield na lang.
thank you in advance for the assistance.
btw, it looks almost like this.. (you can see the bulb shield already dark, pero sakin is a very light brown.. parang nag sisimula na siya masunog)

December 19th, 2010 12:17 PM #2Try removing the shield nalang (if possible). Fogs shouldn't be a problem with glare, unless aimed wrong. Also, if the shield looks burnt then there's something wrong. If you leave it too long it might cause more damage.

yung mga bagong fogs wala nyang reflector... although not sure if nakakasilaw na sya pag tinanggal mo kasi it is mainly for focusing the beam.
baka naman sir nagpalit ka ng high wattage na bulb kaya nasunog? although pag ganun usually ang unang masusunog is the harness pag stock pa rin...

thanks for the reply mga sir.. to answer your questions, nope, I haven't changed the bulbs, the bulbs installed is what is included in the foglamps, H3 55watts.
then sa installation, its directly connected to the battery and then relay as well.
i think this is one of the 'manufacturing flaws' of my foglamps, just saw another pair a few days ago ng palabas ako ng village, parehong pareho kami ng nakasalubong ko and it also has that issue that I have.
ill try first to clean it with a typical metal polish... if all else fails, then ill first remove one side and see if it will give a blinding glare sa kasalubong ko.. hopefully not kasi mababa ang installation nya sa bumper ko.

good point din sir.. malamang my 'plan b' is either to try to use metal polish if it can be removed.. else, permanently remove the shield.. buti na lang the surrounding reflectors did not turned the same color due to heat of the bulbs.. plano ko pa naman mag palit ng higher wattage ng bulbs.

I agree. Note that you're spending 1.763M for a model which essentially came out 4 years ago and...
