Ang problema ko pala if I try the Hella... the smallest is still 2 1/8 in height.

    http://www.classicgarage.com/classic...5lightkit.html

Which means I will probably have to cut out part of the bumper. How big is the Catz? Sana mga 1" height lang.

Problema wala kasing abang for aux lamps ang Corolla 98 bumpers, unlike say the Lancer or the Mazda bumpers na merong lubog or yung puwedeng tanggalin na plastic... esep esep...

Yep, same thing, bubutasan, plus OEM = expensive hehe. I doubt too if it will use the OEM fuse slot and replace the headlamp switch with the foglamp-enabled one.

Yup AE111... ang kinakatakot ko lang naman pag di ako satisfied at gusto kong tanggalin eh di sira na yung bumper hehe.

Some other things to consider pala when putting in aux lights are:

wiring - gauge; plus how to tap it so that it can be turned on when park lights are on. Bahala na electrician as long as he knows what he's doing.
relay - hopefully if I don't use the higher wattage lamps this should be optional
fuse - to use the existing location or put one along the wires
switch - where to locate, what kind
amp - if it's not high wattage the stock amp would probably suffice

well, sa installation, i preferred to go to a reputable electrical shop (wizzard) pwede mo sabihin kung pano mo gusto nakasetup. pinalagyan ko fuse and relay(mura lang pala. not bad)..yung catz kasi may kasama talaga pero naiwan dun sa kinabitan na kotse..ayoko lang yung switch which is green and very bright at night! nakakasilaw. need to visit my friendly neighborhood deeco to get a better switch..or opt for oem. ugggh

to keep cost down and no drilling, upgrade mo na lang present bulbs sa headlight if stock pa. change to 130/100 watts bulbs, install two relays for each side.
in installing aux lights relays are a must to take the load off the switch, and when you like you can only turn it on when the park lights are on the wire from the switch taps into the wire of the park light.

I wonder if the stock plastic sockets and housing can handle the heat... what about the stock wires?

sa experience namin about lexan lenses, natutunaw lang if naka high beam ka and na ka stop, but if moving may airflow naman, just to be sure when in traffic turn off the headlights na lang.

upgrade also to deramic sockets. if you think sobra ang 130/100 you can also use 100/90, its a better than the stock 60/55.

    Salamat ARB...

Ok... eto na ang mahiwagang tanong... where to get ceramic sockets, 100/90 lamps, installer who knows what he's doing...

    Salamat ulit!

marami naman sa manila siguro na magaling gumawa yan. just ask them if they know how to do it sa Toyota coz' unlike other cars you either have to open up the dash or install another special relay for the high beam indicator to function.

for the ceramic holders we in the province can get them here and the suppliers are from manila I guess it would also be available there, so as the bulbs there a lot of good brands to choose from, but based on my experience the I recommend Wurth, IPF, Hella, GE, stay away from phoenix, flosser na fake, or any taiwan brand with color.

For auxiliary lights, stick to Hella - reasonable price considering how good the optics are. You will be amazed of difference in performance (and reliability) compared to taiwan amps using same bulb wattage. Lens and reflector design talaga nagdadala.

the aux. light of my maxima DIY ko..

i used taiwan original kit for honda civic (ung ka-model ng loca SIR). complete with lights, "raybrig" relay, and wiring...ang prob ko lang is laging nasusunog ung plastic auto fuse...so pinalitan ko ng heavy duty fuse...

DIY ko ung electrical and mounting..pero since taiwan ito, madaling lumabo ung lens ng lights, so pinalitan ko ng nabili ko sa concord na ilaw...remounting lang...

labo talaga ng headlights ng maxima,e..

phillips blue vision nga pla halogens ko...
