Clueless about Headlights please help!

Hi! It's my 2nd time to have a 2nd hand car and this time, ayoko nang maloko ako ng mga pinagpapagawaan ko ng sasakyan. Maybe because babae ako at wala talaga akong idea sa kotse kaya lagi ako naiisahan. Hehe! I got my car this week lang and its a 2nd hand toyota revo. Sobrang labo na ng headlight ko eh. May ilaw pa naman pero yung mismong lagayan or kung anong tawag dun yung malabo.. Pwede ba un ipalinis nalang or need na sya palitan agad? If ever magkano kaya aabutin at san maganda magpagawa? Saka ask ko narin parang may mga marks sa windshield na parang scratches.. Hindi tuloy maganda yung vision ko sa gabi dahil dun parang ang labo.. Is it because of the tint? Do I have to change the windshield tint para mawala? Kasi nakakadistract lalo na pag may kasalubong kang sasakyan.. Hope to hear from u guys.. Salamat!

Have you tried glass cleaner on the windshield? Used with a microfiber towel, that helps remove the streaking. No point in cleaning the outside of the windshield if the interior side is also dirty.

Is the headlight housing itself fogged up? If that's the case you can have it restored by a professional detailer like Big Bert's. Alternatively you can clean it using toothpaste and an old metal polishing pad or brush - this DIY method supposedly works 70% of the way of the pros.

Hi Type 100! Never tried cleaning the windshield baka kasi lumala natatakot ako eh.. Feeling ko scratch sya ng wiper. Hirap talaga mag drive sa gabi kasi puro scratch na nga nakikita ko sa windshield ang labo pa ng ilaw ko. Makakaya kaya to ng detailing? Yung winshield detailing saka yung headlight ipapa detailing ko rin? Thanks sobra! =)

I would try glass cleaner first on the windshield, but if you are set on having it detailed professionally, that has the best bet of remedying your problems. You can probably request just glass detailing and headlight detailing.

The one time I had my Jazz detailed at Big Bert's it was PhP1900 for a full exterior job, and it so happened that the headlights were part of the deal. Not sure if the price has changed since that was about four years ago. Your price may vary

first, palit wipers. kung hindi frameless, puwede ang refills ang para tipid.

then glass cleaner. pag dumi lang, kayang kaya ng glass cleaner. pero kung scratches. pag light lang, puwede ang buffing. pag malalim, baka di na kakayanin.ng buffing.

sa headlight mo, depende kung glass ba yan or plastic lens. if glass yan, mahirapo na yan ibalik sa dating clarity at kelangan mo na replace yan. pero kung plastic lens yan, kaya yan sa detailing at balik crystal clear yan. normal kasi sa plastic lens yang maging yellow at hazy.

sa windshield mo naman, since cause ng wiper yan, mababaw lang gasgas nyan at pwede din matanggal yan sa detailing.

bring your car to the more known detailing shops like Big Berth's or other shops here at Tsikot. Never go to Banawe or other small shops dahil tatagain ka lang at kung ano anong trabaho gagawin sa Revo mo. before you know it, 3x na ang cost ng ginawa nila sa dapat na price. Sa known and refutable shops, meron na sila set price and quality work pa. Meron pa guaranty. you just tell them what you want done, they'll quote yuou the price and if you agree, you just sit back relax and wait for them to be finished with your Revo. No hassle and hanky panky.

yung sa headlights, depende. it may be clouded inside, or it may just be dirty outside. pa headlight cleaning or detail mo na lang. yung sa oto ko, kaka headlight detail lang and it cost me 500 pesos per pair. you may be surprised na pag niliha yan (using a fine sandpaper), puro libag na yan. pero kung sa loob ang dumi, you have no choice except to replace it with a new headlight assembly. i don't know how much it costs, but it could be from the range of 3500 - 4500.... pa start mo na lang muna dun sa HL detail.

yung sa windshield, could be at the tint, could be at the windshield. tanong mo na din sa nag heheadlight detail kung nagdedetail sila ng windshield. normally costs around 1000 pesos.

Pwedeng linisin yung HL na glass kung ang dumi ay nasa loob, binabaklas at niluluglugan ng water at chemicals na makakalinis. Inquire ka lang sa mga detailing at shops ng mga ilaw.

Hi! Went to Evangelista kanina at nagpapalit na ko ng tint at nagpalit ng wiper. Medyo luminaw yung windshield ko. Nawala kasi yung ibang scratches. Ang saya! Hehe! Pero may mga napansin parin akong mga konting scratch kaya since most of your replies eh ipa detailing ko, sige, baka ipa windshield polishing ko nalang sa big berts and pa headlight detailing ko rin. Tama yung wiper, "banana type".
Sa HL, may naiwan lang na tubig yun. Turn on mo lang yung headlight for a few minutes para maalis yung moist.

Pero pag naulanan at bumalik yung moist, maaring hindi maayos pagkakalapat ng mga seals.

Banana wipers po is 650 (750 bigay nya pero ayaw kong kunin, pinagpilitan nya lang talaga actually). Mukhang ok naman nga but I haven't heard of the brand. Flameless. I think China yun.

For the HL, tinanggal nya naman po at naalis nga yung water sa loob. He also asked me to turn the lights on, and I did. Kaso yun nga, kamalasan talaga, umulan after mga 15mins nya malinis. Dun nagstart yung moist ulit. I had my lights on kagabi and I also cleaned the front with toothpast and water. Luminis sya pero hindi kasing linaw nung ginawa nya.

HL Detailing will cost me 1,800. A new headlamp will cost me 2,800 daw po. Padetail ko pa po kaya?

medyo mahal yung wiper sir kasi meron 500 lang sa sulit/ebay. tapos meron tag 300 lang sa blade,concorde, ace or Handyman. pamasko mo na lang sa kanila yun diff. sa price.

sa HL mo naman, madalas kasi ginagamit nilang sealant pag re-attach nila lens sa body ay silicon sealant nabibili sa hardware kaya di lapat ang sealing sa original sealant. tapos pag hindi ininit ulit yung original sealant bago isalpak yung lens, di talaga lalapat at magkaka meron ng moist everytime uulan. hassle yan kaya dapat ipa back job mo sa kanila para magdagdag sealant sila. ganyan nagyari sa HL ko nung binuksan para kabitan ng projectors, pina back job ko lang sa nag install at dinagdgan ng sealant kaya di na ulit nag moist.

dba detailing na yung ginawa sa HL mo or tinanggal lang yung basa sa loob? kaw na lang mag detail sir, buy a sachet of scratch remover from ace or blade, use a microfiber and rub with all you rmight sa lens, lilinaw ulit yang lens ng HL mo. no need to pay them for this.

Bale pinunasan nya lang ng some chemical then punas then spray water then punas. Hindi ko pa po kaya magDIY hehe hindi ko kasi alam paano tanggalin yung headlamps. Hindi ko rin sya mapabackjob kasi hindi sya shop. (Nilapitan lang po ako ni Kuya Bong when I parked my car sa Evangelista.) Though pwede ko rin syang ipagtanong dun hehe.

May tama na rin nga pala yung lens. It's a small white thing sa gitna, sabi nya sunog na raw yun..

sir buffing the lens with scratch remover will restore the clarity of the lens. no need to remove the hl. just rub the lens to remove oxidation scratches and haze. kung meron crack yung lens, talagang papasukin ng tubig yang HL mo sir. pwede mo gamitan ng clear sealant or silicon yang crack para di pumasok tubig or mag moist. pero kung malaki naman ang crack, better to replace it na lang with Depo HL. Solves all the problems of your HL.

Hi 1D4LV! Buti nalang nabasa ko agad yung reply mo.. Nag inquire kasi ako sa may bandang greenhills, napadaan alang ako, nag ask ako how much detailing ng headlight quote sakin 3K..nagulat nga ako bakit naman ganun kamahal buti nalang di ako nagpa detailing. Babae kasi ako kaya siguro talagang taga yung iba. Tsk! San ka nagpa headlights detailing? Thanks! =)
