    Help!

I was driving my trusty '95 Lancer EL yesterday morning. I signalled to turn left. All of a sudden, the left signal light started to blink very rapidly....twice as fast as it originally would. Parang taxi tuloy ang dating niya. It's been that way ever since.

The right signal light didn't seem to have any problems. It would blink at the original frequency. When I put on my hazard light switch, both left and right signal lights would blink at the original frequency. So, it's just the left signal light that has gone haywire. When I switch the left signal light on, not only does it blink rapidly, but I also learned that the bulb for it in the rear would not light up.....only the left front would light up.

I assume it is an electrical problem. But what could have happened? Is there any DIY solution to this? I haven't had the chance to check on the left rear signal light bulb to see if it has burned out, but assuming it has, could this be contributory to the problem?

yung hindi umiilaw malamang pundido. tanggalin. kung maitim na, pundido na. dalhin sa auto shop, bumili ng kapareho. ikabit. ok na

heto ang detailed DIY steps dyan:

    1. ilipat mo yung right rear signal bulb dun sa left front signal bulb.
    2. tapos yung galing dun sa left front signal bulb ilipat mo sa right front signal bulb
    3. tapos yung right front signal bulb ilipat mo sa left rear signal bulb
    4. lastly, bili ka ng bulb tapos ilagay mo sa right rear signal.

    HTH! :D

that's normally an indicator na sira yung bulb sa rear (left or right) pag faster ang blinking ng signal light (indicator) sa dash...nabago kasi yung current flow because of the open resistance created by the busted bulb...hth

pag nababasa siguro, may open siguro sa electrical mo

ung double contact is used mostly sa brake (21 or 32 watts)and park(5 watts) lights...ang signal and reverse ay single contact yan..21 watts mostly, ung iba 32w, pero mayroong 5w or 10w used for park lights.

iba-iba shapes and sizes nyan, better to have the burned-out sample...

may taiwan bulbs that are cheaper(less than 20 pesos) but dont last that long, japanese, geman bulbs last longer but at a hefty price... just use plain/white bulbs, so that others can see you easily, dont buy those taiwan colored bulbs, especially blue and red ones..they give out less light, make the other drivers hard too see it at night...for our safety, right?

may LEDS din, pero mahal, ung white might not give good illumination when used as a reverse light...LEDS are good for signals and park lights..

ung lite ace ko, double contact ung park light sa front (lower wattage used for park, higher wattage used as a corner light when i switch the signal on on either left or right)

kalimitan lang naman bumibilis ang pag-flash ng signal light is when one of the major signal light bulb on either front or rear is busted..

kaya for easier checking, turn your hazard, and walk around on your car...ung walang ilaw, sure pundido un..

pero kapag napundi ulit pag-kakabit mo ng bago, pacheck mo na linya nyan, may dikit(grounded) ung linya..

    hope this helps..

it would be an indicator that the bulb must be nearing its end...mapupundi na siya...
