Auxillary Lamp & Lamp Stay Advice...

I found a pair of these Maxtel lamps at a local store for Php 1,300.00/pair (non-neg.). I'm not sure but I think the diameter is around 8". The body is black (metal) with a chrome rim (where the stone guard clamps on). The lens color is yellow. The metal base is also aimable to compensate for uneven mounting.

Ok kaya ito? Mostly for cosmetics lang naman and the occasional use.

On the lamp stay naman, I'm having one done up by one of my dad's patients. He did the lampstay on the Montero and Land Cruiser II. He also did the LC II's trailer hitch and shovel mount. I already have a design in mind but my question is ano kaya ang magandang isulat dun sa front tube ng lampstay?

Balak ko sana (in black letters) na "OFF ROAD EXPRESS" ang ilagay. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Magpapagawa akong lampstay sa patient ng dad ko as previously posted. Stainless tubing with a light tab. Medyo mahirap lang i-explain ng walang picture sa ngayon.

Wala na akong brush guard. And the brush guard does not have provisions for lamp mounting.

OTEP, go for it. At P1300 a pair and 8" in diameter you can't go wrong on this one.

I got them from Concorde (gasp!) in SM City North EDSA. They are actually 7" in diameter as per box specifications. Old stock na siya with the packaging being far from pretty anymore.

Actually madaming old stocks na foglamps ngayon sa Concorde SM (kaka-renovate lang kasi, baka madaming nahukay sa stock room). Meron ding Maxtel 4x4 na rectangular pero same and design theme (black with stone guard and yellow lens din). Madami pang iba dun na on display. Yung iba are the same as the ones being sold in the big U.S. warehouse stores. Pero medyo luma na and yellowed na ang packaging. Usually nasa Php 600.00/pair na lang.

Nope, walang light tabs ang brush guard ko and the tubes are too close together and you cannot take just one tube out because they are connected.

Also, wala na akong brushguard.

I'm going to the fabricator on Saturday. If he is not too busy, I will have him fabricate the lamp stay.

Sana hindi magalit si wiretap_md kung: 4x4MD din ang graphics na ilagay ko dun sa lampstay. hehehe.

Inalis mo na pala, buy a new steel winch bar for those lamps! Might as well as the winch and side bars too!

Hehehe. Magastos! Yung lampstay ko malamang freebie lang from my dad's patient. I will also see if he can do rocksliders.

Galing na ko sa fabricator (Jewel's sa Malabon). 3/4" diameter stainless steel piping ang pinili ko (didn't get the wall thickness). Sinukatan na kanina.

For test fitting na sa Tuesday.

I was at Concorde today, yung mga old stock foglamps selling for as low as Php300.00/ea. Magaganda pa naman though walang brand and old stock. Yung mga newer unbranded lamps kasi mas mahal tapos may mga hindi magagandang features (brackets prone to corroision kasi hindi painted, cheesy plastics, etc.).

KC, masyadong mahal yung sa iyo. And ayoko nung integrated. Gusto ko medyo lumulutang naman para hindi car-like tignan. Mas madali din mag-upgrade ng lamps sa ganitong set up.

Malakas siya. I aimed the lamps for long range lighting and ok naman. I initially aimed it low for fog driving pero wala naman masyadong fog sa mga pinupuntahan ko.

They do fabrication work, maybe you can try and talk it over with them.
