I accidentally hit the back end of our MPV when I was parking at the SSS public parking. Can I still file a claim regarding such even though it happened 4 months ago. Our CTPL is insured at Mercantile. What should we do? Need your advise, please. Thank you.

CTPL does not cover damages to your own car. You need comprehensive (full coverage) insurance for that.

I thought when we said CTPL, we mean our insurance is comprehensive? Sorry, newbie here.

Yes, we do have comprehensive insurance. Its our first ever claim. Going back to my concern, is there is any time period that we should file an own damaged say 4 months ago?

someone here already said, that their insurance policy specifically states that the claim must be filed no later than xx weeks.

CTPL = Compulsory Third Party Liability. This is basic requirement by LTO for car registration. You can get CTPL separately. It is different from Comprehensive Insurance.

If you are willing, you can just say the accident happened a few days ago ... Since there's no other party involved ... This is assuming your insurance and payments are up to date ... Check if you have Own Damage Insurance ... OD PD BI ETPL ...

i think most compre insurance policies cover "self-accidents".

It's been raining like hell for the past two weeks, and I park in the open. My neighbor is a big fat liar.

Is there any time requirement for me to file a claim in our CTPL insurance, it's Own Damage 4 months ago.
