tell them to cancel the insurance beyond march, refund you the remaining premium, and then insure your car "the way you want it".

currently 1year na lang utang ko sa bangko is it neccesary to get insurance? Is it required?

    the government requires tpl only.
the compre is required by the mortgage holder, to protect their interest.
if your car is fully owned by you and not mortgaged, only the tpl is required.

Mine is set at 500K each.

Cathy, I am paying less and my coverage is higher. If you're a preferred client at any bank, try talking to their insurance partner and get a preferred rate for auto insurance.

*others, what does the 'Authorized Repair Limit' really mean for claims?

Question, do car dealers/bank which approved the car loan allow an independent (meaning not tied-up with the bank or dealer) customer-preferred insurance company for the car to be bought? I havent asked any car dealer or bank regarding this, but I want to know if there are any who has opted and allowed to get an independent car insurance. Thank you for any info

Salamat.

Ipagawa? Pwede po ba?

    ano po kaya magandang gawin?

Sensya na po di maalaman 1st timer magclaim. Salamat.

    this is what i understand:
the estimated cost of repair is 22K.
    your participation fee is 7K.
    22-7=14 more or less.
you will be forking over 7K, as participation fee.
tama ba? check with your insurance po, if correct ito.

from what i understand, these insurance firms have a stable of approved shops.
instead of asking here at tsikot, why not ask the insurance guys themselves?
they might even point you to an approved shop that will fix the car "at more favorable conditions to you".

errr... what is your car in question, po?
kasi, if the car is practically new, the casa repair may be justifiable.

59K siguro estimate nang casa (kasama parts for replacement)

    this is weird.
some insurances say the participation fee is for the event, while others say it is per panel.
    curious...
