Problem is, your work and your home might be in Binondo. But the question now is: does your world revolve around those two?
I doubt they're making their kids walk or take the taxi on their way to school and I highly doubt they don't go anywhere else aside from Binondo without the use of private vehicles.
Like I said, there's really nothing demeaning with the use of public vehicles. However, our public transportation system is so bad that it forces people to make public versus private: a class differentiator. And for the rich, there's nothing more annoying than being constrained by others. That's why uber-rich folks travel by jets and it actually makes sense!
There are rich people with just normal cars. In fact, they prefer normal cars. It's basically depends on what you want in life. For example, my father always had a boner for growing his business. So he focuses most of his cash there and he drives around in a 2002 CRV. As a man, he loves the engineering behind the cars and would often visit showrooms of Mercs and Bimmers, but not once had he pulled the trigger on a purchase. Why? It's not that he can't afford it (we're the largest company on an oligopoly.. of a need),
he simply can't justify it. It's not what he wants.
Sa totoo lang, the best answer here isn't to "bilhin mo na, bata ka pa naman" or "save the money, invest mo nalang sa iba". One is too selfish and the other too.. selfless (ano ka? Buddha?). It's also a great choice he's choosing subcompacts which have lower SRP prices versus compact cars.
So my reply here would be: Cash preferred; Largest DP if possible. Also try to look out for secondhand cars.. ang sarap sumakay sa loob ng bB

the space inside is deceiving I tell you!
If gusto mo lang gastusin yun paycheck mo, better start by first compensating your parents for your college education. Because if that doesn't teach you on how expensive it was for them to invest in you, it'll at least give you a good smack in the head that money doesn't grow on trees.
