I'm still very pissed at how expensive sodas are now. AFAIK blue collar workers love sugared drinks (cobra, coke, pepsi etc). This government deprived the masses of simple pleasures. hay.
Malamang, kung dahil sa excise tax dapat wala ring iced tea.

sm has the basics covered and the convenience of driving less than 10 minutes is a bonus (pun intended) there are several bakeries and their meat selection is decent. native tomatoes are good enough. there is a drugstore.
the young probably wants to explore and spend their earnings. other malls offer more of course...
parang sa different thread dapat to 🤔

Dami rin bugok na eggs sa SM. Produce section is not fresh to put it mildly.
Re: excise tax on fuel for the first time in a long time I filled up on ordinary diesel. Premium stuff is too high now.
time to fill up for the last time before the excise tax effect.
Bro- I estimate that at P40/L,- that was 72 liters.... --- opppss I used regular diesel because that is what I am using... Anyway,- below are rough estimates of the additional cost vs. the salay increase.....
Increase is about P3 per liter in excise tax + VAT = so additional of P216 ....
Average is 8Km/L = good for 576Km.
Average mileage in a year is 20KKm total approx = P7,500 additional cost in a year or about P625 additional cost a month....
If you get an increase of P8,000 per month in salary (assuming you're a salaried individual), - then it is only 8% of your "increase"....
Now,- prices of goods and commodities is another story/concern....
From Cito Beltran:
It seems that we are only now beginning to realize that the tax reform law called TRAIN is full of unexpected or hidden penalties in exchange for lower income taxes. The real problem with the runaway TRAIN is not the law itself but the interpretation and direct impact on consumers. In a country where businessmen shamelessly and habitually pass on any added cost or tax burden to consumers, there is no doubt in my mind that an uncontrolled surge in prices will create a tsunami like whiplash against the government.
Pati bank transactions and cheque book?!?

Ayan na...
Marketed to increase "take home pay", but whose original purpose is to increase funds for the government...
Yes. Di lang yan, anything affected by document stamps wherein the tax is doubled.
Pati tax on your Foreign Currency accounts.
