Autoindustriya just published a leaked Toyota price list update: https://www.autoindustriya.com/auto-...r-in-2018.html

Some years ago my friend in the insurance industry said to be careful with my old pickup (Frontier) when an election year comes up as statistically, incidents of stolen pickups go up.

From what i gather, the lower end variants had a slight increase (less than 50K) while the TOTL variants had a more sizable increase.

Wow. That's a classic. One of the first L200 models released here. Those look nice with a clean paint job and low profile tires on large rims.

Yeah it was quite sentimental for me since I learned to drive in it. [emoji24]

    Ouch.

    Now this will "hurt" everyone.

    No escpaing the Domino Effect.

Sabi nga ng gas pump boy na nakausap ko about this TRAIN, "Nagsisisi ako binoto ko si Duterte".

At least marunong yung gas pump boy na mag-konek-the-dots.

Some people, on the other hand, still don't get it.

    kulang sa imagination ang gobyerno

    and the public

it's only after things happen that people realize the full effect

it will be days or weeks after the excise tax on fuel when the public will feel the pain

and the govt will go all out managing the backlash

i'm sure there will be calls for TRO or something

    --

    me

    May 10, 2017 Digong thread

I cited venezuela as an example of populism gone wrong

Populist leaders will blame businesses when there are food shortages (hoarding daw)

But it's the government's fault in the first place

In response to high inflation the govt imposes price controls

So businesses stop importing coz they'll be losing money

    Which results in shortages

The govt then goes after businessmen to appease the masses

But that doesn't solve the shortage problem

    I told them du30 is a populist

His populist policies (end contractualization, tax exemptions for low income earners, raising taxes elswhere, etc) could cause high inflation

So in reaction, the govt will act like any populist govt -- impose price controls

Which will cause shortages and even higher inflation (and of course widespread anger among the masses)

The govt will then go after businessmen to appease the masses

There is nothing wrong to drop by at their showroom and ask. Just tell them you want something more bonkers than a Mustang GT. Hehehehe

By the way, I saw an orange Bentley Bentayga yesterday. How much do people pay for those things? Is it twice the price of its twin (Audi Q7)?

I advised my co workers to not be blinded by the increased take home pay (income tax adjustment) and be extra prudent with expenses until we all see the full effect of the TRAIN in the coming quarters.

I think he's probably referring to what will occur after visiting the showroom, such as having to explain to his better half on why there's a PGA Cars delivery at their gate.

Same price lang naman ang LC mo sa Macan. Parehong 5M. So it means u can afford a porsche, though we all know it's not that practical to maintain[emoji51]

2 of my friends bought their dream car- the Macan. 1 of them said that much more pleasant and enjoyable to drive ang lexus rx nya compared sa macan
