July 1st, 2010 04:50 PM #12Mga bossing nalinlang na rin ba kyo ng insurance ng Toyota (Empire Insurance) Comprehensive sya mas mahal pa ng konti compare sa Standard Insurance pero wala pla Act of God, nung nag-claim kmi nasisi pa kmi bkit daw nmin hndi pina-add ung Act of God, samantalang ung sa Standard nmin wla naman kmi pina-add at mas mura pa pero covered nya act of God. Tsk! TSk! Tsk! BAdtrip.

July 7th, 2010 03:28 PM #16As I've always said. It's not really in the company. Almost all companies will pay legitimate claims. It's how the agent handles your claim. Sometimes its also the fault of the Insured himself, for violating some of the provisions of the policy. As they say, ignorance is not an excuse. Again, thats where the agent comes in. He should educate his clients as much as possible regarding certain dos and donts.. Kaya yung mga iba diyan na barat magbayad ng premium, mag isip isip din kayo. Its easy to lower the premium, but at what expense?

July 21st, 2010 07:55 PM #17Last year (ondoy) lumubog Starex namin, we bought it last year din Feb. 2009. After so many months of waiting, andon pa din sa casa. Nung una (April), we wrote a letter of reconsideration to declare it as total loss. May AOG yung insurance namin with BPI MS, pero ayaw nila. yung quotation ng repair reaches almost half a million na based from Hyundai docs, at may mga padating pa na more than hundreds of thousands.
All the while we are paying monthly sa bank (almost 700k na) for the starex na hindi namin magamit dahil nasa casa pa since november 2009 (July 2010 na ngayon) at nagpadala na ulit ng renewal ang BPI MS for the insurance which binayaran naman namin. Pero ang hirap nila tawagan para mag follow up ng claim. Sa tagal ng paghihintay at wala kaming magamit, we end up getting a Fortuner, so doble ngayon ang expense, monthly ng starex at ng fortuner.
Bakit matagal nire-repair ? Try calling BPI MS. Experience ko with casa, kapag may pera gagalaw sila. (I experienced it with my vios and Innova nung nagka-damage, galaw sila pag dating ng LOA)
This month tumawag sila we have two options, we retain the Starex and they'll pay us around 600k or we don't retain the starex but they'll only pay around 1.2M.
How much ang value ng brand new na starex on its first year ? more than 1.5M bawasan mo ng depreciation value from Feb 2009 - October 2009, is it equal to 1.2M ?
Bakit around 1.2M lang ? It is because, based sa nakausap namin from BPI MS, naglabas na sila ng money pang repair nung Starex and we should shoulder the 50% of it plus the participation fee.

July 22nd, 2010 10:29 AM #18Take the 1.2m. Taken into consideration everything that had happened, I think it's fair enough. You wont be able to sell it for 1.2m in the market even if you had it totally repaired, repainted, refurbished. Although of course the bank will take crack at your money first. Whatever is left, you use it as the DP to get your next car.

once you bought a car... its value depreciates by 20% so 1.2M is a fair deal na.
