Pwede. but the policy will be named after whoever is in the registration. You can just add "and/or" name of new owner para in case of loss necessitating a cash settlement, you can still deposit the check without having to involve the previous owner..

i wouldn't spend a cent on a car that is not yet owned by me. what if...? besides, if the car got in trouble and it is insured even remotely to you and they can't find the previous owner, guess who they'll run after?

I was assuming that airtac had executed a deed of sale that will reflect transfer of ownership. So technically the car is already his, if that particular deed of sale had been signed by both buyer and seller and duly notarized by a notary public. It is very common for a buyer to wait until its registration date to have it processed at the LTO, para isang lakad na lang daw. Actually ang nakakatakot diyan is not for the buyer, but rather the seller. If the new owner (but not yet reflected in the LTO) met an accident, such as hit and run and there are witnesses who got his plate number, guess what? The authorities will come running after the previous owner, not the new owner..

    my 96 centavos' worth..
it's already march. what's preventing the new owner from transfering ownership and registering the car now? the insurance probably expires march 31. if he registers it april 1 or later, he gets to pay a fine. new owner actually spends more if he doesn't register the car this march.
registration and transfer of ownership cost maybe 15 percent of the comprehensive insurance and tpl. what's the logic in getting compre and failing to register/transfer ownership...
if new owner drives the car with expired registration and gets into an accident, i wonder what the insurance company will say once they find out the car's registration is expired..

Car transferred to new owner, should I get a new TPL?
