30k is already a very competitive rate for your elantra. Just make sure you have an agent servicing your needs to somewhat avoid the hassles if and when you encounter an accident.
Very good quote if it is already bundled with acts of nature.

here are the basic coverages of an insurance policy.
1. CTPL - needed for registration. covers 100k due to death and/or medical and other expenses for third party persons.
2. comprehensive - covers own damage/theft to your vehicle plus VTPL of body injury and property damage
2a. Sometimes also bundled with Acts of nature or acts of God
3. Auto P.A. - covering death or injuries to persons inside the vehicle covered
How to compute? CTPL and VTPL have fixed premium. For brand new units, CTPL is 1,675 for 3 years.
Own damage/theft rate for private cars range is about 2% (depends on the insurance company) of the value plus acts of nature is about .5%
VTPL is fixed rate, depending on the coverage. If at 200k each, BI is 280, PD is 1,245.
PA iis about 250 for every 250k coverage.
Add them all up and add approximatley 25% (taxes) to the result, will give you the total premium.
Acts of nature and PA are optional.
Guide lang yan kasi rates differ with every insurance company.
For an elantra at 958k, 30k premium is a very good one already. Remember that the rates for SUV and sedans are different. Cars have higher rates. Standard rate for a car is 2% of the fair market value. Then add another 0.5% if with acts of god. Rates of course vary for each insurance company. Plus third party coverage that can reach about 2k. Then pinakamabigat ay yung 25% tax. This roughly 25% of the premium goes to the government, not the insurance companies. Assuming na 1m ang value for ease of computation:
20,000 for OD/theft
5,000 for acts of god
2,000 for standard voluntary 3rd party
Total is 27,000 plus 25% of 27,000 (6750), total is 33,750.
If it is an SUV, the amount would have been about 25k.
try to remember also that in insurance "service is their business" look for a reliable company and a dependable agent.
Guys pwde magtanong, I'm buying vios 2009. Can you give me an estimate magkano insurance nito? With and without act of god. Many thanks!
