    I notice a lot of people revving up their diesel rides first before they shut it down...

    do you guys do it? and why?

    marami gumagawa nyan. kanina lang, yung Dmax na nag park malapit sa amin. ni-rev up nya before turning off... parang old school kotse...

    sa mga jeepney i think para kumarga battery? dahil faulty na alternator nila?

    sabi kasi ng mga mekaniko (panahong wala pa ako)... rev muna para magkarga ung battery. para malakas battery para sa next start....

    not sure kung may basis ito ha..........

    Naku, di lang naman mga diesel fed vehicles ang nakikitaan ko ng ganyan. Kahit yung mga de gaso, ganyan din, nire-rev up nila before patayin yung engine.

    Even during the '70s, this was the popular belief by old school drivers but really you are just wasting fuel. Even for gas car engines. I don't see any benefit in doing so.

    Nakakatawa nga nung minsan may pumunta sa bahay namin then the young driver revved up the car before turning it off. I asked him why does he do that. He simply said "Wala lang. I learned it from my Dad.."

    No need specially in turbo charged vehicles you have to run them at idle for a while to let the turbo cool down or better yet install a turbo timer.
