Top Gear is known to be biased against the environmentalists. They are big petrol heads, and just rubishes global warming Still its a good show, pero public enemy #1 siguro sila ng Greenpeace

"It's how you drive it."
Instead of the track, they should compare the FC in heavy city traffic driving. :D

It's also about power reserve. Pretty sure the Prius was using most of its power, while the M3 was just cruising along. Gearing definitely also helps here.

Saw a similar comparo earlier on DW, between a hybrid Lexus GS 450h and a BMW 530i. Both cars are of the same size, have A/T, run on the same high-octane fuel and pack close to 300 hp.
Over the same distance (100 kms) in aggressive city and autobahn driving, using identical driving styles, the Lexus led the BMW in terms of fuel consumption. But in relaxed city driving, the Lexus actually gulped more fuel on account of its weight.Last edited by Bogeyman; July 4th, 2008 at 05:24 PM.
