October 1st, 2010 10:36 AM #31Why not try this video from Shell in You tube?...baka meron sating mga kasama na have time and interested to prove this video is not a hoax. hehehehe..[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU35MkEThG0&feature=related"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU35MkEThG0&feature=related[/ame]
It looks simple to imitate kahit ilagay lang sa mainit na tubig..sa mga Mc gyver/Mythbusters wannabes magandang project to para makita natin kung me katotohanan nga ang mga pinopromote ng mga Gas companies na yan about their so called cleaning/detergents additives.

Have only tried the V-Power diesel on an '05 Gen 3 Starex CRDi and an '04 Prado non-CRDi, though eventually will try Petron's version.
Both rides are on 2 tankfuls of the fuel each. From the 1st tankful, noticed that the Starex got a wee bit thirstier (by 4%) and the Prado a wee bit thriftier (by 3%) over the same conditions compared to when they were on Caltex Diesel with Techron. Really not much to go by, kaya will observe the next few tankfuls.
On the power side, there's a little bit of help for both. Nothing major major, parang gumaan ng konti ang takbo. The Starex seems to be puffing a bit of smoke under load though. Might be the injectors getting cleaned out.

November 24th, 2010 09:44 PM #36ive tried petron turbo diesel and what ive notice is that the engine is responsive but.. mas mabilis maubos ang diesel...like yung 500 14.5 liters ko before is like 160-170km inaabot but nung nag petron turbo diesel ako 110km lang....now im trying caltex with techron parang same lang ng consumption like petron TD......now ang tanung ko san magandang mag pa karga ng diesel na good for the engine but better fuel consumption...

Tried both. Mind you, ang Pajero ko is already close to 17 years na. Ang engine, simpleng 4M40 TDIC lang. So eto na...
A. V-Power Diesel
From the moment I turned on the engine, no difference, kasi ang laman pa ng injection pump eh Caltex. Here comes NLEX.
Una kong napansin is, wala... Now here comes NLEX, di ko naramdaman ang naramdaman ko sa V-Power. Parang medyo pigil ako dito.
I'll do an FC monitoring this Saturday as I go to Batangas. I only have 1/4 tank of Petron TD and supposedly, dapat eh magpapakarga na ko ng 1 full tank ng V-Power. Sad to say, ubos ang V-Power dito sa amin.
Initial Observation
V-Power
- smooth run
- better acceleration
- better engine response
- smooth idling
- more expensive than the regular diesel by 2.50 petot
Petron TD
- none
- felt like a half step above the oridinary diesel
- more expensive than the regular diesel by 4 petot
Now I'm a bit scared na bumalik sa ordinary diesel. Baka mamaya eh maghanap ang makina ko ng magandang klase ng diesel eh.

Nagagaspangan ako sa V Power Diesel on my SF. Angbilis pa maubos.
Mas na-smoothan pa nga ako sa Caltex Diesel though medyo mabilis maubos compared to Regular Shell Diesel.
Ginagawa ko na lang is Shell Reg Diesel pag Bahay-Office-Bahay on certain weeks. Pag medyo malayuan, Caltex Diesel.
Petron TD, hindi ko pa nasubukan.

January 17th, 2011 04:39 PM #40It seems Petron is putting more fuel additives in their premium fuel line that is why it's priced higher, and as some say; performs a little bit better compared to Shell's fuel line.
Currently, we are using Petron fuel for our Petrol and Diesel cars because thats what my dad gets from work.
I do notice the response difference between Petron and Shell on my '93 Corolla and my '05 Altis. Mas responsive nga si Petron. But I really did not do any major observation or study about this; I just tried to do a comparison before because my friends told me a story about it. And it seems it was true.
So now, I plan to get a credit card for fuel/oil maintenance for my car soon. I use Shell oils for the engine, but use the Petron fuel line....pero gusto ko sana Shell Citibank card para isang card nalang. Hehehehe. Torn between the 2. Review review nalang muna I guess. Hehehehe
3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
