Q.C. bares erring gas stations

A Quezon City official disclosed that some gasoline stations in the city are involved in short-selling activities and are robbing customers of hundreds of liters of fuel everyday.


Quezon City treasurer Victor Endriga said motorists are losing an average of ten percent of the gas they paid for every time they fill up their fuel tanks.


He said several erring gasoline stations have calibrated their gas pumps to register the wrong volume of gasoline and deceive consumers.


The city’s treasurer’s office has been conducting daily inspections of gasoline stations for several weeks now and discovered some firms engaged in short-selling activities.


Endriga said Caltex and Sea Oil gasoline stations have been the most dishonest while Petron, Shell, and the other gas stations can be trusted.


Inspectors, he explained, had been going around and had been checking using calibrating buckets which measures liquid by cubic centimeter.


“Ginagawa namin ito para sa mga consumers natin. Kawawa naman mga gumagamit ng gasoline, ang taas-taas na nga ng presyo, niloloko pa sila,” Endriga told Today.


He said if a motorist buys 10 liters of gasoline, he will get less gas.


Endriga said they had been sealing these gasoline station’s fuel tanks and have been imposing fines based on violations of a local ordinance.


After paying the penalty, the gasoline stations resume operations only after inspection teams calibrate their fuel machines to correct the fuel output.


“Ang pinaka-OK ’yung Petron. Pinakamalala, based on our monitoring, ’eh ’yung Caltex at Sea Oil gasoline stations,” Endriga said.


Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., said the erring gasoline stations should not simply pay fines but should be banned from operating.


“They are definitely violating national laws specifically on product standards. We will coordinate with and call the attention of the Department of Trade and Industry.Belmonte assured the consumers that the city government will not tolerate illegal practices and will not let motorists be victimized by those who take advantage of unsuspecting consumers.


Various government agencies are expected to investigate the erring gas stations especially now that prices of petroleum products have been going up regularly.

Pag sigurado silang may anomalya na ginagawa yung gas stations, dapat i-publish yan para di na puntahan.

kaya pala nagtataka ako kasi bumaba ang mileage ko, yun pala nadadaya. dati kasi whether caltex or sea oil nasa 9.5-11 km/l ako, ngayon i rarely go higher than 9 km/l. shift na lang ako sa petron!

Tanong ko lang na may mga balita din na yung ibang gas stations ay hinahaluan ng kerosene or even water yung gasolina kaya kahit sukatin mo ang volume, tama pa din... how do we know if we're really getting our hard earned money's worth when it comes to gas purchases ?

wala sa brand ng gas station iyan kundi nasa dealer iyan...dapat ipinakita nila stats kung ilan gas stations ang ginawan nila ng calibration at kung ilan ang lumabas na nag short selling per brand...

mahirap mag negosyo ng gas station ngayon...dapat magsara na lang sila o mag resign as dealers kung di nila kayang negosyuhin at wala na silang kinikita :swear: ...di sila dapat mangdaya...dapat sa kanila silaban ng apoy at gasolina :devil:

Try mo magpagas sa iba ibang dealer and brands, yung may pinakamataas na mileage mo malamang yun yung mga honest dealers.

Dalawang gas station lang ako nagkakarga sa libis Shell at sa Laon laan shell

Sa libis shell nakaka-abot ako nang 9-10km/l

Sa Laon Laan shell nakaka-abot ako nang 8-9 km/l swerte na pag naka 9 ako minsan 7 pa nga eh.

Nandadaya kaya sa laon laan.

hmmm....this time madadali ako sa presyo ng gaso' by going from one point to another kahahanap ng matitinong gas dealers..

ito na kaya?! ba, mukhang nilalangaw.. doon kaya sa bagong tayo?! pero seaoil..etc.

caltex and seaoil? not surprised with seaoil..may kaklase ako na medyo may "power"who knows some of the higher ups in seaoil..pag nag franchise ka sa kanila, tuturuan ka pa mangdaya sa pump..konsensiya mo na lang kung gusto mo o hindi..tsk tsk tsk. caltex family pa naman kami..tsk tsk tsk..except me :D

wow. just recently our crv was gassed up with bad gas..mismong pagstart nag erratic idling na...pag balik namin sa gas station ok naman daw gas nila..walang water...hmpph..wasted a couple of hours of my time reasoning out with the manager na i-check yung gas tank ng crv..ayaw..ang ginawa ng mechanic, chineck yung air filter and binugahan..labo. layo ng air filter sa gas a...

dinala tuloy sa casa ngayon yun..12k plus bill..due na rin for 30k km check up and carpet drying dahil nalubog sa baha (after ng pag gas na)..plus hinala nga ng service adviser gas with water daw..either that or plugs..i'll know in a couple of days..

caltex visayas avenue po..pump number 4 vortex gold..ingat ingat. dad ko kasi caltex guy from the start kaya no say ako..

ako shell like theveed, i always have bad experiences with caltex..bad gas consumption, erratic idling, power loss (hina hatak)
