It's possible that the ECU has a separate map that detects fuel quality. Most likely, the local "95" won't trigger the more aggressive fuel map, maybe 96 or higher would. You never know, it might just have an effect. But should you want to experiment, run your car to nearly empty first so the higher octane fuel won't be diluted.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i drive a honda city 2005 model- manual 1.5vtec..
from the day i got it, i always place velocity and i always here fuel knocking sound whenever i accelerate to 2800-3000rpm. i had the casa check it, they said, its the fuel that i use, they recommend me to switch to unleaded <petron>,
could it be bec honda engines prefer petron?? is the fuel the main reason y i hear a knocking sound at those revs?
personally, i prefer velocity among others, the gas station that i get my car filled is new, 2mos old, so im sure that it has nothing to do with gas station
any feedback/advise will be appreciated
Maybe it's because you're a higher octane gasoline? Coz when we bought our City 1.3L A/T, the sales person said that we should only use a 93 octane gasoline.
so.. the only allowed octane is 93?
it means, d pwede city sa 95 octane? parang d normal ang ganun, considering, a better fuel is being used.. the reason y i use this high octane is bec i go home to province at least 2x a week and i use NLEX. usually go on high speeds. constant at 140kph, using velocity is very efficient and hindi hirap makina sa arangkada, thats the only time i can feel the difference from unleaded fuel..
mukhang ganun na nga... some cars can't take higher octane.
don't know what's the reason for this though
