How many percent is the added cost using Petron's TDF than the regular diesel? Could anyone say that the benefits will also add to this percentage.
As someone said, any sort of an additive that promises to give more than 5% of efficiency is 'snake oil'.
using d4d, better and smoother acceleration than shell v power
for revo 2.4, shell v power is better, bakit kaya
just tried the petron td in my carnival over the weekend. seems acceleration is quicker/better compared sa ordinary diesel. i had 1/4 level on the gauge remaining when i topped up so i had a "mix". will try again for a second fill pag naubos ko na so i can somewhat make a conclusion whether to stick to the new td or back to the old diesel maxx. will also see the FC kung better or not after the second fill.
from shell v power diesel, i just shifted to this para masubukan. after 3 full tanks, no difference. mileage is the same. both has no "napalm" smell as yung ordinary diesel. my ride is a tucson ix crdi
mukhang mag stick na lang ako sa v power. mas mura. wala naman difference
Dear bors:
I really can't say what the differences are for a turbo diesel as I don't have a turbo-diesel to test the new fuels on.
I can say that on my ride - Mazda B2500 WL-31 without a turbo, I find little or no difference vs the ordinary diesels, the same is true for our other pick-up a Toyota HiLux with a 2.4 liter 2L engine.
As I do not know the composition of the new diesels, I really can't say if they are better at cleaning the fuel system or not - unlike in the additive where I know what went in - it is a strong solvent and thus tends to dissolve gums and varnishes in the fuel line.
I would tend to believe that this 'superior' turbo-diesel fuel they sell must be better refined than ordinary diesel, so maybe you are not wasting your money, but only time will tell whether you can say the benefits are worth the extra price.

My observations with petron turbo diesel:
MB '87 w124 300d turbo - Less black smoke on accceleration, better smell of exhaust, quieter engine, faster acceleration
MB '94 w202 c220 diesel - Less black smoke on acceleration, better smell of exhaust, quieter engine, faster acceleration
Mits. '99 Pajero FM - Less black smoke on acceleration, better smell of exhaust, smoother idling and revving
As you can see minimal effect on the pajero although my wife swears it goes faster. More noticeable effect on the Benzes. Bumilis talaga and smoother running.
that's old
doesnt matter what color local diesel is
we already know local diesel is dirty diesel despite all the marketing gimmicks
see this thread: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75146
that was my point all along (local diesel is dirty diesel)
Tried this on a New 4JB1 engine... Twice ko na nagamin (full tank - 46L and 42L). Ang na notice ko lang is yung faster acceleration and quieter engine. Smoke sa exhaust? Wala pa difference actually kasi bago pa naman yung sasakyan.
My take on this? I'll go back to the regular diesel engine... For every full tank that I make with the Turbo Diesel, I spent 200 pesos more... That's already more than 4 liters of ordinary diesel IMO... Additional 50-60KM trip... Two days of back and forth to work from home... I'd be more practical na lang, one of the reasons why I opted for a China made vehicle and diesel powered engine is because I'm a cheap b*$tard... ;D (joke)...
Siguro for Turbo powered engines, mas mag bebenefit sila with this, but for old-new engine like mine, the regular will do. (just my 2 cent).
Rollback ang prices ng fuel.
Petron DieselMaxx - Php43.50/Li
Petron Turbo Diesel - Php46.50/Li
