guys i heard there is a new low octane gas available in the market, 88 octane, though is that ok for carburetor engines, they said it was ok with EFI ones..
what do you think?

They're pitching the 88 for carbureted engines and small engines (weed-whacker, lawnmower, generator)... I suppose it has no E10. E10 can cause problems with rubber fittings not designed for it... and in generators and boat engines, where it is left sitting for a long time in a moist environment, it collects water... a lot of water.
Most modern EFI engines require a minimum of 92 RON. Unless your car has a sticker that states specifically that it can use less, I wouldn't risk it.
