Lads, let's keep it simple.
We're here to test the initial claims of the said device.
The engine durability issues can be for another day or another thread.
Can we get three cars? Getting two is difficult enough.

but durability and longevity of your engine has to be taken into consideration as well.
its like taking drugs, u feel good now, but in the long run, what happens?
I agree. Engine durability is important specially to those who value their cars that much. IMO, if the question on engine durability will not be solved, I think people will still be hesitant to use this device. Kahit na sabihin mong minimal lang ang engine wear, kapag may makarinig na engine life will be shorter, madami pa ring aayaw.Originally Posted by chase

Khaos 6500
4 x Full tank 6000
4 x Dyno ????
4 x Emissions Test 2800
Sub-total: P15300
If we can get sponsorships for the dyno, fuel, and emissions testing it would really help.
Ouchie, this is expensive. :P
Ghosthunter has two of them khaos. Look for a third unit lying around somewhere, sell each at 5K, and whalla!! you have 15K for your testing!! Siguro naman may bibili niyan for 5K, imagine mo, naka discount sila from the original 6500!!Originally Posted by pink_cadillac
If it does work then we revisit the engines after a year to inspect for wear.
naku, dagdag na yan sa 15k budget mo...baklas buong makina? tsk tsk..meron mahal din yun ah :D
Hence we limit our testing to performance and economy.
They do have a money back guarantee right?
*Bench test Khaos for fuel economy the same way the NHTSA tests all vehicles sold in the U.S.A. (procedure can be found in Car&Driver magazine's Road Test Digest section).
*Do durability testing on two identical engines used in an identical fashion. Engines may be bench mounted or not.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
if others are willing to ante up, tsikot.com will give P1,000 to this cause. can't give more than that though, we don't have much money hehe.
i have an idea about fuel-economy measurement. to keep things totally repeatable, and to minimize variables, why dont we just fill the tank of a car, then put it up on a lifter and then run it up to a constant 80 kph or 100 kph for around 15 minutes or so? then drive it to a nearby gas station and fill up the tank to get the number of liters consumed. or a different regimen may be employed, say, rev the engine from idle to 4000 rpm repeatedly for 15 minutes to somehow simulate city driving.
for this test, only one car is needed, and because the test protocol is well-controlled, only one before-and-after test needs to performed for conclusive fuel-economy results.
maitanong ko na rin ... lean mixture => hotter engine ... questions: how much hotter? will the temperature gauge reflect the rise in temperature significantly to be visually perceived? or the temperature gauge will only show slight increase, maybe almost imperceptibly, because the hotter part of the engine is concentrated only at the combustion chamber, which could mean that the temperature rise may not be that significant and the cooling system is efficient enough?
i guess these questions should be directed to khaos users ... so khaos user guys, do you see any change in your temperature gauge to reflect the fact that lean mixture results in hotter running engine? if yes, by how much? since the usual temp gauge don't show actual temperature, kindly indicate the amount of deflection of the needle, noting that the usual min-to-max deflection is about 90 degrees
sorry if this is OT for this thread ... mods, please move my post if you see fit ... thanks
hmmm...
lumabas na ang Grand Turismo 4. Baka may Khaos upgrade kit dun. mas tipid yun. dun nalang natin tingnanhehehe.
seriously, last time I asked, Dyno use is pretty expensive. baka magdoble and estimated cost.
If we're going to do this on the cheap let's do it like this.
Power: Use accellerometer
Consumption: Using mbt's suggestion
hmm..actually my father is a skeptic about this..pero gusto nya i-try talaga. identical vehicles? pwede sana sa amin kaso, isang 4g13 and isang 4g15. ngayon, kung isang car lang ang may khaos..payag ako to both of the cars being tested hehe (wait..di ba decision ng father ko yun?!?) hahaha  sa 4g15 yung khaos ha? yung 4g13 lagi kasi dala ko eh...
have Freeman lend you a khaos unit for testing...you'll return it in an almost-new condition. he should be more than willing to do so, given his often-stated desire to learn the truth.
that should save you 6500 from the budget.
Imo,
Save yourselves the trouble & keep your money for something else.
