    ^^ it's a 'two-step-forward-one-step-backward' style. 1 peso increase, 50 cents decrease.

and sabi nga ni sir ghosthunter... it will always move up.

What I do is to listen to the news starting at 5pm, and monitor the increase or decrease.

$80 na ang oil sa world market. Yung current price ng gas ngayon ay based pa sa $76. Kaya humanda na tayo sa mga dadating na araw. Piso itataas nito. Full tank na ako mamaya

For sure, prices always go up. World oil prices are dictated by the major oil companies, not OPEC. They are the living MAFIA in the real world.

    DUH

the price of oil is not dictated by oil companies or OPEC

the price of oil is determined by the market

oil is traded on international commodities exchanges

players in the exchanges buy and sell contracts

the prices are determined by all sorts of factors -- from dollar strength/weakness to geopolitics

the prices are beyond the control of any "oil cartel"

if based on fundamentals, the price of oil shouldnt be at current levels

    should be much lower

but oil isnt trading on just supply and demand fundamentals

for investors/speculators treat oil as just another asset like equities, bonds

oil is a risk asset like equities

when there's risk appetite, oil gets bid up

when there's risk aversion, oil gets dumped

for now, there's speculation that the Fed might do something to reflate the US economy (QE2)

so that means there will be more liquidity in the financial system

and that liquidity has to go somewhere

very likely, the destination will be commodities

so the price of oil could go higher

there will be a Fed announcement tonight

if the Fed doesnt say anything about QE2, oil price might decline

By the way to the uninitiated in economics, QE is quantitative easing or printing money or expanding the supply (when there is no demand for it ) in effect devaluing the currency...

    *uls

Ganun talaga pananaw ng karamihan, they think its the oil companies like Exxon, Shell, BP who control prices. We know better!
