Gasoline: What would i use?

greetings! i was just confused in the different types of gasoline in the market.... velocity, blaze, gold, silver, super unleaded, unleaded, etc....

i'm new in the road bought a 2nd hand car and i don't know which type or brand of gasoline would i use...

Is it ok to try all of them to a car? can they affect the performance?

ok lang to try different brands, pero baka may effect sa performance when changing with different octane ratings.

What car do you have? You can check with the owners manual on what is the minimum recommended octane of the car (usually 93 but some manufacturers require 95). As long as the car is maintained (tuned-up, all filters and fluids changed and clean, etc) then you should have no problems.

Try to stick to one brand and even to the same gas station if possible once you've chosen your fuel of choice. Try different brands and octane ratings until you find one that you feel works best with your ride (good start-up, engine response, fuel economy, etc.)...

i bought a honda city 2000 model and based on manual, a minimum of 91 octane. i currently use a 95 RON gasoline... can i shift or try an unleaded gasoline(93 RON)? can this effect the engine performance?

how long will it take to find out if the gasoline performs best?

City 2000 LXi? my wife drives one of those... she usually gets good results using Shell Unleaded.

have tried loading it with Petro unleaded, pero parang sumisipa.

and please take note...all gasolines available here locally are of the "unleaded" variants. iba-iba lang RON and octane rating nyan. kung baga sa hamburger, may hamburger with cheese, hamburger with bacon tsaka plain hamburger lang.

my advise for you is to try using the lowest version first (yung mga regular unleadeds like shell, petron, caltex and total),tapos kung di mo gusto response, try mo yung next level like shell super, petron (forgot the variant). tapos kung di mo pa rin trip, go for the most expensive ones (like velocity, XCS gold, etc...)

Sa Shell Unleaded, parang bitin ng konti ang hatak at mukhang mas mabilis maubos ang gas. Nung bago ang Velocity, tinry namin at napansin naming mas magaan ang hatak at mas matipid. Palagay ko mas maganda ang combustion dahil higher quality fuel.

depends on the engine.. take for example the toyote revo gas engines.. sa 2.0L 1RZ-E 90ron ang minimum rating, while the older 1.8L 7K-E is 95ron.. so dun sa 1RZ-E pwede ako gumamit ng 93ron, dun sa 7K-E 95ron lang pataas..

ask what the previous owner was using. kase what i heard, if you use a high octane fuel on your car e.g blaze with 96+ RON...eh you cant go back to using lesser fuels like extra unleaded and the like.

It depends kung ano ang engine mo what the recommended octane rating is. Im not sure kung paano pagdetermine sa rating ng octane sa pinas. 93 , 95 sounds very high for ordinary engines. I personally use 93 or premium for my s2000being a high compression , high reving engine prone to detonation ,For my RAV-4 ang Sequoia i just use 87 RON.
Gas choice has to do with engine compression and detonation-parang combustibility ng gas . here's a link http://www.misterfixit.com/deton.htm.

The question is whether the engine could have taken the gas in the first place. If your car doesn't mandate 95 Octane Unleaded (as some Japanese cars do), regular unleaded is just fine.

My old Sentra mandated 95 Unleaded only (which, in Philippine terms, would mean 95-97 RON... equivalent to US 92 or 93... I think) but I never had any problems even when the other driver or my brother put in Regular Unleaded.

use the lowest octane rating that doesn't cause knocking in your engine...

Sa akin experience mas ok gamitin ang 95 octane rating kaysa sa 93 octane malaki bawas ng gas kapag 93 octane.Mostly sa petron kami nagpapagas bihira sa caltex at sa shell..

stick to unleaded whether it be shell caltex or petron, just choose between the 3 which gives off better fuel mileage
