fuel prices are experienced globally, not locally. and if they regulate the cost of fuel and sell it low, but buys it high, sino ang sasalo? government has no funds for fuel subsidy (unlike during the Marcos times na merong OPSF). But even though with the OPSF in place in current times, i don't think it would be sufficient.

Even some countries that subsidize fuel have lifted subsidies coz their governments can no longer bear the cost. (India, Malaysia, Indonesia)

kawawang juan dela cruz na pala ang labas nito! yeah, global problem degree na eto guys, kagaya ng mga sinabi nyo. kung aalisin ang tax, wala naman kita ang government natin. either method, kawawa pa rin tayo eh. we just need to use it wisely and efficiently. OPEC said magproproduce daw sila ng enough oil pero ganun pa rin. aren't we suppose to blame ourselves for this or other countries who buy oil not for their use but for their market value?

there's oil and there's oil contracts.

All real oil that's delivered is utilized. Even stockpiles are utilized sooner or later.

Oil contracts make speculating on oil possible.

    Classic buy low sell high...

Since the start of 2008, a lot of people who have no intention of taking delivery of real oil have been buying oil contracts...

    Ginawa casino ang commodities market.

More like a place to hide as a safe haven from the crashing US Dollar That is if you can stomach its price volatility

grabe naman sila, parang hindi na sila naawa sa mga tao. sila nalang yung nakikinabang. dapat tumulong sila dahil we all depend on each other to survive in this world. ika nga eh sino pa ba ang magtutulungan kundi tayo din. dapat ganun ang isipin nila. i just hope wag nila i-hoard ang oil kagaya ng bigas

^^The reality is we all compete for the world's resources. While we all want to be nice to each other in good times, but in bad times we see the worst of humanity.

    Forget Vietnam.

Vietnam has 25% inflation. It wanted to grow like China but it is failing miserably... now it has too much money in circulation but not enough goods and services to absorb the money.

    ------------

I would bet on Brazil. Brazil is hot.

    ------------

More than a billion people from China, India, etc are rising out of poverty. They are eating better, buying more stuff...

That huge demand drives up prices of food, and everything else...

So even if your country's economy isnt growing as fast (like ours), we still have to pay the prices the other countries are willing to pay...

    That's competition.

Basically, human civilization is not much different from nature.

It's still survival of the fittest.

    -------------

    You cannot rest.

The Philippines thought it was on top of Asia in the 50's or 60's. Asia's first airline, first this, first that...

the Philippines rested... thinking its poor Asian neighbors can never catch up.

    WRONG!

    You cannot rest.

    Life is non stop competition.

You think u have millions in the bank and don't have to work anymore?

When people around u become billionaires and force up the prices of goods and services, you lose...

That's why rich people don't stop working...

Life is like running on a treadmill... u have to keep running just to stay in place... when u stop, u fall off.

What will you do? This is what I did. Get into agriculture commodities and own a farm. That is what you should do. You don't own it to profit, but own it for protection. Own some precious metals like gold and silver, this will protect you when paper money becomes worthless.
