Is there a problem with my city kaya or is it just the way I drive it? 2006 city 1.5 CVT 3 months old nakaka 320KM lang ako minsan less pa sa 30 to 32 liters na gas. Anybody can give me a suggestion? Maingat naman ako sa pag-apak ng gas. Although traffic talaga ang dinadaanan ko.
Mostly stop and go ka ba sa traffic? Baka yung CVT mo medyo slipping na ang drive belt niya. Yan kasi sakit ng mga CVT although tried and tested na ang CVT ng Honda.Originally Posted by matty
Or check your engine. Maintained ba siya properly?
Naka auto ka lang ba or using the CVT manual shift? Baka di ka sanay sa shifting kaya lagi ka over rpm. Try adjusiting ur rpm in between shifts. O baka di ka sanay sa matic? guess ko lang?Originally Posted by matty

Oh, also increase your tire pressures... best is 30 and over... I keep mine at 35, but 32 should be enough, and lower your aircon settings (don't keep it on full blast) but you probably do that already.Originally Posted by matty
*matty: I'm not sure if the 1.5 is supposed to be as efficient as the 1.3 iDSi in traffic. I know for certain it can do up to 14 km/l even in mixed hataw/highway mode. You could try increasing tire pressures to 32 or 33, lowering your AC settings, and using manumatic mode. Press very lightly on the gas pedal, and shift at 1500 rpm or so (the CVT actually allows you to pull from this low). This ought to raise your km/l figures to 12-14, at least.
And plan your braking way ahead. Leave some distance between yourself and the car ahead so you can engine brake more. Leave the car in neutral if you're not moving, too.
During the Eco-run, all of us averaged 23 km/l... that's an average of 1.5-1.7 liters for 45 km and two hours of city traffic. And we weren't driving dangerously slow... just delivery van slow. The Jazz team that got only 14 km/l was doing 120-140 km/h on EDSA.If you watch your gas foot, you can really save big with the City.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Toyota Altis 1.6J 2006:
averaging 10km/Li city driving, alternating between crazy and safety driving, aircon not always on; not tested on highway... yet.
95 Corolla GLi, city driving 9-10 km/l, although one way madaling araw so wala talagang traffic. Highway 12-13 km/l, medyo speed mode.

Madalas eh hataw mode yan, kasi malelate na =) pero i try to change gears by 2000rpm... paminsan eh 3000rpm before i shift...
btw, i use Petron Blaze... i dont know if mileage will change if i use other gas.
josh0027: stop and go most of the time.
thanks guys for the inputs.
