In older cars I think DFCO required minimum rpms of over 2500 so it wasn't as effective. Now though I notice that my Ranger goes into DFCO as low as 1500 rpm.

So effectively coasting distance is also prolonged due to less engine braking.

I still alternate between coasting and DFCO depending on the situation, but 85% of the time I just let DFCO kick in yo.

I just assume that it kicks in when my instantaneous fuel consumption becomes 0.0 km/L.

There is a reason why this practice (freewheeling, coasting in neutral) is illegal in most developed markets so I don't practice it.

There are some people who not only freewheel in neutral during eco-runs, but freewheel with the engine off.

    Not a great practice.

Sorry medyo na nosebleed ako sa mga terms. Let's say MT car, pababa ng flyover I'm running 70kph, pinakawalan ko ang gas pedal, ano ang mas matipid, stay in top gear or shift to neutral? I always practice staying in gear dahil delikado pag neutral.

Dahil sa DFCO ay malamang hindi na ko mag free wheel. Mas safe pa rin talaga pag in gear ka.

The video I made 6 years ago demonstrating how keeping it in gear while coasting will result in better fuel economy.

yes sir that proves that the program in the Computer box really works. There's an interlock though..the TPS should be in good condition and the RPM should not be less than 1300rpm. So as long as the TPS indicates in 14 or close/idle and the rpm is above 1300 then the power to the Fuel injectors are cut off thus it saves fuels. I think it applies to all Honda EFI engine above 2000 model..not sure the exact years..but read it in the manual.
