Shell's E10 is P39.20 when i tried it yesterday. Shell's super unleaded is P39.7+. Both are octane 93.

Engine runs a bit better, but consumes more fuel.

I hope I was of help.

    That's it.

I'm not going to buy e10 anymore. It is totally impractical. I used 1/4 of my tank and I only got 100kms wherein usually I would get to 160kms with unleaded.

That's what you'd expect by taking out 10% fuel and replacing it with "oxygen" in the form of alcohol (ethanol). The 10% alcohol is also fuel but has less energy output than the gasoline it replaced. E10 is oxygenated fuel meant to reduce emissions and save the environment same reason for biodiesel, and of course to save on $$ reserve, less dependency of imported oil, to help our farmers by growing our fuel, renewable source, etc.

hmmm... sobrang drastic naman ng fuel consumption...

when I was using SeaOil's E10 before, halos pareho lang ang fuel consumption ko.

I think ethanol mix fuel is quite expensive since we are still importing it to other countries. Since they are still introducing in this country and maybe Shell still experementing if there really a market for this kind fuel in our country.
Our government should act to pass some laws and encourage local industries to built ethanol plant here, we have all the raw material ( sugar cane, cassava, corn and etc)

In Brazil and Australia they are already using 20% mixture in there gasoline.

Tama M2 sobra ganitong fuel consumption difference. I just wanted to impart that E10 has less energy compared to pure unleaded. You may not even notice the difference in consumption or acceleration/power.

Alcohol will raise the octane rating of gasoline, but at the expense of fuel economy. I've seen both ethanol and methanol used to dilute gasoline. Ethanol used to be employed in concentrations as high as 10 percent to formulate oxygenated fuel. ......as high as 0.3 percent are acceptable, and specifically permitted by most of the car manufacturers. Higher concentrations in vehicles not designed for alcohol can cause corrosion of metal parts wetted by fuel--things like the inside of the tank and the lines, and the pintle valve in the injectors. High concentrations of alcohol also can make non-alcohol-rated plastic parts turn to Jell-O in a few months.

I think you get real engine boost and less economy by adding a certain amount of alcohol-based substance to the fuel....but when I watched a re-run of SPEED's Japan Auto Show last night, Japan's focus is on hybrid vehicles. Sana the big 4 automakers here add this to the current of up and coming lineups...pati pag retrofit ng older (3 or 4 year old) cars with electric motor para sa fuel economy ng mga city dwellers.

For us who drive along the SLEX, we better use cars that are smaller para mas matipid....yung mga minivans and suvs..sa weekend na lang gamit nyan pag punta sa province. Usually ako PETRON and SHELL unleaded...wala gaano difference yung 2.

Problem is a lot of pinoys are afraid to drive small cars in freeways/highways because of how trucks and buses drive in these highways. They feel safer in big SUV/cars than hatchbacks and subcompact cars. I have always wanted to buy a Jazz CVT because of the fuel saving i can get from it but I can't. Not because of financial problem but because my parents don't want me driving something so small that supposedly has a bigger chance of getting killed in an accident. So i do the next best thing which is drive economically and use Ethanol fuel if i can.

BTW the bill that proposes a mandatory 10% ethanol blend in all fuel is still stuck in the Senate. I guess those rich poiticians still hasn't felt the pinch of the gas prices even if they were driving gas guzzlings SUVs.

Sana gawin din yung ginawa nila sa regular (leaded) gasoline, gradual ang phaseout kasi po not all of us have vehicles that are E10 compatible, lalu na sa countryside.

all fuels on sale locally since April 2000 are all unleaded as the first stage of implementing the clean air act....

yung mga premium, xcs, gold, or whatever brand name the oil company has are are all unleaded... only difference are the octane ratings....

The following models will not operate satisfactorily on E10 fuel due to material compatibility issues: Camry with carburettor engines pre July 1989 and Corolla pre July 1994.
    Mazdamazda,

So Toyota Previa can work with Shell E-10?

i have heard that the E10 gives a lesser fuel economy as compared to the regular unleaded.
spencersy, what was your previous fuel economy with the regular unleaded?

guys, wanna share my eperience with ethanol blend fuels particularly that of shell. the car in use is a 2004 xtrail 200x. pansin ko lang parang tumaas yung idling ko. nag-oover 1k rpm siya that definitely equates to higher fuel consumption on my part. before kasi happy ako with velocity then decided last sunday to try shell's e10 blend. and one more thing during morning start ups parang tagal ma-reach ng engine ko yung time na bumaba na yung rpm nya (before i hit the road). any same experience?
