If the time comes wherein the price of diesel hits 60.00, mag BD nalang ako na puro.

Teka, im still wondering why the gov't isnt considering developing BD? Hehe isnt it that simple? Whats the current update ba regarding biodiesel?

    mazda,

according to nat geo, the supply is diminishing in the sense that existing fields in some places are starting to run dry (either reduced output or need more work and energy to extract the same amount of output) and major new fields aren't being discovered.

yup... the cost of extracting oil is getting higher (as what you said... more work / energy to extract the same output). that's why we have high oil prices.

btw, a large part of the protected Alaskan wilderness is sitting on one huge oil field. is America "reserving" this for dire times?

How about Hydrogen powered cars? AFAIK BMW has one. Mahal lang ata yung production.
hydrogen is ok. only prob with that is the storage & needed infrastructure to distribute it. they are saying that China *might* be the pilot country for the use of hydrogen for vehicles.

production right now is costly as they are producing one-off machines. but once you mass-produce it the price will inevitably drop.

Japan has experimented on almost every type of alternative for fossil fuel.

Sa amount ng basura na nakukuha from Manila, mga 10,000 barrels a day daw ang kayang ma produce.

Germany during World War II, made their own fuel. It was hard for them to invade or get thru the oil refineries in Russia etc... so they studied and experimented and viola! man-made fuel.

    Mojo,
Thanks for the clarification. Sana nga as early as now mag invest na ang government sa production ng raw materials for biodiesel.

in the last 4 or 5 years, China has been growing their car/automotive industry by the millions... they even manufacture their own cars... imagine, a population of a billion... wait and see when india does the same... lahat tataas... wag naman sana...

it is estimated that by the year 2007 the demand of gas/oil will be higher than the supply....patay na tayong lahat siguradong tataas ang presyo at never nang bababa.
