But the clean air act FAILS. The reason why ethanol was used to make E10 gasoline was to supposedly save our dollar reserves. We were to use all locally sourced ethanol to make E10 gasoline.

Unfortunately we are still buying 99% of the ethanol needed from half way around the world to make environmentally "green" fuel.

    FAIL in so many levels:
-99% ethanol supply bought from foreign supplier
-ethanol more expensive than gasoline, more dollars used.
-"green" fuel shipped from a place far far away.
-E10 fuel gives less fuel mileage forcing car owners to buy even more

    stupid govt idea

kneejerk reaction yan sa high fuel prices noong 2008

they thought adding ethanol would reduce oil imports

ang problema wala naman capacity ang local ethanol producers mag supply

so ganun din... bili ng ethanol sa Brazil

local ethanol producers probably lobbied the govt to enforce 10% ethanol blend para guaranteed meron mag a-absorb sa production nila

kung di enforced yan (optional) oil companies can choose to sell or not to sell E10 gas

with the current high price of fuels, there should be a review on E10 gasolines, the price subsidies, the cost to the motoring public (reduced fuel mileage), etc

Nope they cannot because 99.9% of cars will not run on E20 gasoline. Only E10 is considered compatible to nearly all EFI cars.

In some vehicles due to a higher compression ratio the ethanol blend doesn't decrease the mileage so significantly. Chevrolet engines have been the best ones to use with ethanol blends.

i myself experienced an FC dip (more than 10%)... from 10ish to 9ish km/L

if only 1% is locally produced then they should relax the law until we're self sufficient sa ethanol! sinu-sino ba ang nag-iimport ng ethanol ngayon, they really find a big pot of gold here

oil companies import ethanol coz they have to comply with the 10% ethanol regulation

di naman nila gusto yan eh. oil companies have no choice

kung optional ang e10 di na sila mag bother mag produce ng e10
