Kasi magulo product segmentation nila. They're selling Xtra Advance as 93 octane to supposedly market it as superior to FuelSave or Silver which is 91 RON. I think though that it would be much easier if they just dropped Super Xtra and marketed Xtra Advance as 91 RON para 3 grades lang like everyone else.

Kawawa dealer, kailangan nakahati yung UGT niya into separate partitions pa para pwede iaccommodate yung maraming product grade. Other stations usually 1 product per tank lang.

Water in your fuel will make your vehicle stall.

As for quality of refined vs imported, like I said previously, all base fuels have to meet certain requirements of the DOE, regardless where the fuel came from. Only Shell and Petron have local refineries, but their products aren't noticeably different from that of other companies.

The decision to have a refinery is driven more by economies of scale than it is by quality. Only companies with large enough volumes nationwide can afford to maintain a refinery. All smaller players have to import.

baka naman ang RON 93 customers nila ay ang briggs & stratton fans club.. as well as RON 91 users who want a little more oomph...

Basically, it just reiterates what I've been saying that all base fuels are mostly the same, but nagkakatalo lang sa additives. In fact in the Philippines, sometimes yung binibenta sa independent station is exactly the same as what the branded company sells.

MANY years ago, i have been bulonged by someone in the know, that when some dealers run out of fuel supplies, they just buy from "other brands who are willing to sell to them". dunno if this is true.
but same-type fuels of different brands are mix-and-match...

btw, high RON do not equate to higher power, speed, etc. sabi sabi lang yan

Hindi. Basura customer service nila at madudumi CR eh.

I'd try them if I had no choice, but lagi namang may branded gas station kahit saan ako pumunta. Kung may alam kang wala, sabihan mo ko ng matayuan ko haha.

Anyway, yung iba walang additives, just the base fuel. Yung iba naman, exactly the same as the additives sold by the branded companies. Depende and paiba iba naman kasi ng sources ang independents so hindi mo rin masasabi.

No harm in trying them out bro. Kaso one full tank usually isn't enough to say na brand x is good or if it sucks. It takes several hundred kilometers of testing under consistent conditions to narrow any performance/economy variances down to the fuel used.

Meron dito ako nakikita Galaxi yung name nya.
