Anybody could recommend a Diesel Mechanic and/or shop. Someone who preferably has overhauling experience of Trooper engines. Quezon City area sana. thanks

sir anong engine po ng pajero niyo? 4d56 or 4m40? i might be needing an overhaul na rin for the 4m40 as JeF of mymitsu suggested since yesterday sa pajero clan EB, he took off the oil cap and had me idle the engine and a lot of oil splattered out from the open hole. how much inabot niyo and how long would it take?

Sa Betan sa Makati. P500 but you have to leave your car the day before as the comp test has to be done on a dry manifold.

Iwulpurong, What specifically the problem you have had with your Paj which Joy (Pajero expert) fixed?

nabalian ako ng crankshaft bolt kya napilitan ibaba makina ko buti di inabot crackshaft kundi mas malaking gastos...whew..

nugundam, diba normal lang that the oil will splatter when the engine is running or idling when you take off the oil cap. what i think is bad if there is smell of exhaust gas and smoke, its a sign of blow by na or the combustion passes thru the rings already. If wala ka pang oil consumption the engine is still good.

What other symptoms have you experienced? diesel engines as long as regular change oil lasts up to 200k without a need for overhaul, and as long as hindi na overheat.

arb is right. Mas masama kung smoke ang lalabas when the oil cap is taken off. To be sure I suggest you get a compression test.

arb, paj4x4: hmmm. i don't notice any power loss naman and smoke is i'd say still normal. though i do need a change oil soon, due na rin eh. when we took off the oil cap, wala naman nangamoy na exhaust gas or smoke.

Glad to be of help nugundam93. Pa compression check mo muna para sure. Gen 2.5 yung Paj mo diba. Di pa naman siguro due yan for an overhaul.

yup, gen 2.5. 73T kms na rin ang natatakbo niya. sana nga di muna for overhaul. :D

73k kms pa lang - di pa nga siguro unless nag overheat ka na or nababawas na ang oil mo before the 5k km change oil interval. Yung gen 2.5 ko nasa 97k km na okay pa naman.

sorry, medyo wala akong alam sa oto talaga eh... mines a 01 fieldmaster, 38T kms ang odometer nya.... kelangan ko na ba magpa compression test? if not, what are the signs na kelangan na? thanks

Hello guys...may Starex Club ako..'99 model.55K na tinatakbo..2nd hand ko nabili...mga napalitan ko crankshaft, mga oil seals, hoses....Malaki laki na din nagagstos namin ni misis...First time ko humawak ng diesel engine...Paano mo malalaman kun dapat na i calibrate ang injector pump..? Tried na ihataw ang starex ko sa coastal ( i live in cavite kasi) ng 130kph.. Mga magkano nman...? May recommended shop ba kayo..?

diesel engines: tama yung post. with regular maintenance you can run it for more than 200K actually without the need for overhaul. Pa-compression test mo kung may doubts and also pag kumakain na ng langis may white/bluish smoke na yan. Also pag overheating na coz baka may crack na sa cylinder heads. Kung yun may oil deposits ka na sa radiator and nababawasab tubig mo. Yan candidate na for overhaul but not necessarily a major one. Pag sa injector naman problema most of the time mausok na and you cant reach red-line sa sa tach. My 2cents
