Believe it or not my 93 corolla gli just hit 60,000km. The guys at big berts saw it.

No tampering.

But I live a few blocks from work in ortigas center. I walk most of the time. Since the advent of MRT, kupal tow trucks and limited and expensive parking, I take the train. Mostly I walk. Or pag mainit- take a cab.

Gimmik at pag ulan lang madalas nagagamit. All in all 6T kms/year.

Not bad.

I just want to share that walking, taking public transport, car pooling saves gas, gives peace of mind, promotes better cardiovascular conditions, saves money.

Sana ganyan din kalapit yung werk ko.

Kaya medyo inconvenient/mas mahal sa akin ang pag-commute.

Bulacan to Pasig almost Php100 worth of fuel per day ang gastos ko. Free parking pa! Me baon pa akong lutong-bahay ni Mrs. Drebin.

Pero wish ko lang yung walking distance lang ang office ko.

IMO, the good average for a daily used vehicle will be in the 10-14K a year range. There are also other factors like how the car was maintained and how it was driven (sometimes, mas maganda ang high-mileage na highway driven then a low mileage city driven car).

Our pick-up was purchased November 2000... i have 33,000km on the odo and i've been driving it most of the time. Weekdays QC-Ortigas/Makati and on weekend/vacation, out of town (Tagaytay, Baguio, Ilocos, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, etc)...

There are some exceptions of cars with low mileages but usually, the owner really dont think of selling them IMO. My aunt's '93 Sentra 1.4 has around 63,000km on it and we got that car brand new and there's no plan to sell the car since its running very well (maintained regulary).

I wish i had the luxury of having an office near my home or easily accessible by public transport. My dad lives near his office (2km) and when he gets there, may basement parking pa siya na libre... sarap.

pero basta ayos naman ang maintenance, aalagaan ka rin nun kotse mo. ;)
