To those who already have installed their LPG kits...

Have you checked your ignition timing and air-fuel ratio?
    -gasoline 14.7 : 1
    -LPG 15.5 : 1

Ideal compression ratio for LPG 12:1

Slightly more advanced ignition timing for LPG as compared to gasoline

To those going to have their LPG kit installed, just make sure one of the korean people check the wiring, etc. so everything will be tied down correctly and cleanly.

    sarap sila...

edchua: you are right mala hula nga lahat sila i dont think they have a device to adjust the timing its hula system,

btw im thinking of having my honda crv converted 2005 model sya kaso ayaw ko ma drillan sya pwede kaya yung braket ikabit dun sa third row seat? i will remove the third row seat and dun na lang ilalagay yung lpg kit ko wat do you guys think?

incidentally lets do a head count of tsikoteers running on LPG

I only had my celfone camera with me yesterday. I'll use my digital camera later or tomorrow to get clear shots.

well, I already had warning (topgun's experience) so I really did hover around the guys doing the installation.

They didn't adjust the ignition timing nor the air-fuel ratio. They really do not have the equiptment for it. That info I just researched on the internet. I just posted that to inform the others who already have LPG systems on their car to have those parameters checked, at least the ignition timing which is easiest to do.

Auto-Xer offered the services of his shop to check the a/f and timing for me. I might go later or tomorrow if I have the time.

For safety reasons, I really suggest you have the tank drilled and bolted to the floor. During my installation, I saw a first gen CRV with a 60L tank. The owner did mentioned lower engine power using LPG (like what I felt yesterday). Might be solved by adjusting ignition timing. I'll update when I have info.

I doubt if there will be any increase in fuel milage when using LPG as compared to gasoline. The savings will be in the cost per liter of fuel.

I think Skywalker is asking the peso savings in comparison with before sa actual driving.

    Gasoline (Petron Blaze) 57 liters x 45.70 pesos = 2,604.90 fulltank
fuel consumption approx = 8 kilometers/liter (city driving)

    Lp Gas (Petron Xtend) 57 liters x 24.80 pesos = 1,413.60 fulltank
fuel consumption approx = 6 kilometers/liter (city driving)

takaw talaga ng chevy optra :car:

regarding ignition timing difference between gasoline & LPG:

    taken from:
    http://ask.metafilter.com/mefi/23863

LPG has a higher octane number than petrol. As the engine's ignition timing curve is mapped for petrol the LPG will not burn as efficiently. I've carried out a programmable, dual map, ECU installation and dyno tune on a dual fuel Australian delivered Ford F350 (factory EFI). The total timing difference between standard unleaded and LPG was 12.5 degrees, additionally, the LPG produced 15 horsepower more (at the wheels) compared to petrol.

BTW, I am not saying you should adjust your timing 12.5 degrees... you might just get better power & economy with it.

yes, its the standard NAIADSS LPG kit. The switch is located on the L.E.D. LPG level meter.

Switching from gasoline to LPG (and vice versa) requires you to turn off the engine before starting on the alternate fuel.

i'm considering having my Benz installed with a LPG kit... ang problema ko lang is where do i fill up with LPG? i'm from sta. mesa and yung mga gas stations dito wala pa akong nakikita na LPG refilling.

GH kaya ba nila for in-line 6, carb engine? magkano inabot yung sa corolla mo?
