The thing is taxis are not well maintained. The first taxis that were installed with LPG kits were old, "dilapidated", carbureted units..the very conditions that are not fit for installation with LPG kits. Worse, the kits were installed by fly by night installers. Try to talk to private car owners, with properly maintained units before and after installation that were done by accredited installers..you will get a very different feedback.

Hi All,
I am seeking help. My fortuner 2010 has LPG installed by Xoom unfortunately they are no longer servicing. currently my unit has issue. When under heavy load the engine stalls. When it is started again it runs fine.
- It doesn't matter if it the morning or after a long trip
- No check engine light.
- Issue happens when AC is On/Of - Not relevant.
- As I see the problem.. when the RPM goes down, it suddenly drops going below 700-800
- Idle is correct it seems 700-800
- Can simulate the issue by having the car on full stop, pressing the accelerator gently on "D" RPM drops suddenly, car shakes and then dies.
- Happens on flat road too.
- Throttle body and spark plugs inspected/cleaned 2 months ago
- engine temp at the normal range - half on the temp meter. Never saw it rise above. Have happened on occasions on very short drives (5 Mins) - when the engine is not that hot as well as on occasions when the engine would have been very hot (Eg : 6 hours of driving)
Thank you guys !

When my old junk car (standard gas, not LPG) showed similar symptoms, it turned out that the culprit was a faulty fuel pump.
I don't know if may shop pa na may marunong mag service ng LPG conversions though, kahit nga taxi units wala na...
if it's electro-mechanical, it is probably fix-able.
one has but to find such mechanic.
ask the taxi operators who have LPG-powered taxis.
meron yata sa taxi barn along southbound south superhighway, just past vito cruz.
if you want to go, stay on the rightmost service road lane, otherwise you'll miss it, as it is hidden by the skyway tollbooths.
the gas station beside it also has (had?) lpg refill capability.
good luck.
as an aside,
have you considered reverting back to traditional fuel? madali naman siguro i-de-convert yan.

Hi Dr.D
Probably you are pertaining to the Tiger gasoline store. Alam ko wala na din LPGs dun but will check.
Yes this is my plan to look for a shop that can remove it. ayaw pakialaman ng toyota makati if gusto ko daw talaga i pursue tatanggalin nila but it will cost me a lot.
Good afternoon.
I have a 2013 Toyota Vios 2NZ-FE fitted with Zavoli Auto LPG kit, installed by Xoom in 2016.
More or less, I also experienced the issues you enumerated here.
In December 2021, I brought my car to Xoom.
Issue:
Engine starts with gasoline, then when engine is warm enough or at 1500 RPM, it switches to LPG. However, after a few minutes, it will switch back to gasoline while the low pressure/low LPG alarm beeps on despite having ample LPG in the tank.
Solution:
As I saw it, they changed the setting. While driving, when RPM falls below 1500, it switches back to gasoline. When RPM reaches 1500, it switches to LPG. This back and forth switching happens while driving. I went back to Xoom and they put it back to the previous setting (engine runs on LPG while idling) minus the automatic switching to gasoline despite having ample LPG in the tank. I also noticed that when starting the engine in gasoline, it will immediately switch to LPG. So, I just manually set the switch to start with gasoline, then when it’s warm enough, I manually set the switch to LPG.
In March 2023, I brought back my car to Xoom.
Issue:
Even if there is ample LPG in the tank, the low pressure comes ON. Engine shuts down if not manually switched to gasoline.
Solution:
Xoom replaced the LPG Solenoid Valve.
I also experience that, while idling, RPM falls 500 or below, then engine shuts down. When this happens, I manually switch to gasoline while idling. LPG is “harder” to burn than gasoline, this is more noticeable when/while idling.
What I do is clean the throttle body. Usually solves the issue but sometimes, it still falls 500 RPM. I’m thinking, it’s maybe the sparkplugs. Currently, I’m using NGK BKR–GAS (7987). I have also used NGK LaserLine LPG1. I’ve seen an ad about a sparkplug that conducts multiple sparks..maybe I will try that one soon.
Total odo and mileage before changing oil.
I did not remove the TB when cleaning it. I just spayed it with TB cleaner. After cleaning, I went to Shell for oil change.

The video shows the RPM is between 600 and 700 after cleaning the TB, after oil change, and after running 5 kilometers.
Auto-LPG conversion is a smart move for those looking to cut fuel costs while being eco-friendly. With fluctuating fuel prices, LPG offers a more affordable alternative to petrol and diesel. However, before switching, it's crucial to consider factors like installation costs, engine compatibility, and safety standards. Also, staying updated on the lpg rate today can help you plan your fuel expenses better. Anyone here who has converted their vehicle to LPG? How’s the performance and savings so far?
i did not.
however, i have it seen come and gone in some commercial uses, i.e., taxis.
for whatever reason, it seems to have fallen out of favor.
